FACEBOOK, no option to report threats

I was watching a discussion on fb just now, about the ramping up of aggression between the US and Iran, and a Man (American) suddenly appeared ranting about abortion being allowed in Ireland, how it was worse than bombing people.

He was ignored for a while, then a woman responded and he replied with a threat about coming to Europe to confront her face to face. I tried to report that as a threat, but there isn't that option.

I'd put it under harassment.

Outanabout · 26/05/2019 11:46

Harrassment is a continuous campaign though, so the complaint would fall down.

Hardly likely though is it? Just posturing.

Mandala6 · 26/05/2019 12:22

Definition of harassment:
Aggressive pressure or intimidation.

Outanabout · 26/05/2019 12:38

Ringdonna, so what if it's hardly likely? How do you know that? He sounded deranged, so pro-life that he thought violence against anyone pro-choice was justified. Why should that be acceptable?

Who gets to decide if a threat is "likely" to be acted on?

GrimDamnFanjo · 26/05/2019 14:06

Facebook is useless in my experience. I'm constantly messaged by "men" usually widowed us soldiers or working for the un- I report everyone but Facebook never finds anything wrong in this and let's the obviously fake profiles stand. Even when the name doesn't match the Facebook url!
