Bumping: If anyone's got even just £5 quid (and I know that's a lot to many people) to the "thing we must not name here" it will be meaningful.
Think about today - police truly thought it was worthwhile of their time to visit Bradford's Cafe Nero to check on a bunch of lesbians who were keen to point out that 'lesbians don't have penises', to check they weren't a 'hate group'.
Think about the call last week (can't find the link, if anyone else can?) where a woman who allegedly had been harrassed by her ex was called by a police officer to warn her that the man she'd been having sex with only a few months' before now 'identified' as a woman so therefore she was potentially the perpertator of a crime for mis-sexing her ex.
If you're sitting comfortably thinking "well, this won't happen to me".
It could.
Unless you fall in line.
Unless you unequivocally agree that
- transwomen are women
- transwomen have female penises
- lesbians who are same-sex attracted are 'fetishists' with 'genital preferences' and may be lesbophobic if they don't agree that transwomen have female penises
- any woman or man who disagrees with the statements above are bigots
- Mermaids charity are the only voice for children who may feel uncomfortable with their physical body
- Stonewall are 100% right in everything they say, always, even if you may personally disagree
- Men who say they are women are always women, and to state otherwise is a crime, particularly if you do this on social media.
One day, you may want to speak out against one of the statements above.
If we don't fight for the ability to do so, right now, you may find you won't be able to.
