First speaker is the daughter of a MtF and is presenting it as being entirely lovely and unproblematic...

This is just cruel. How could anyone promote the idea of sterilizing one's child?

Can't understand why they are presenting such a one sided view. Anyone can see that there are massive emotional issues around your parent changing their identity, and the huge issue that would have on a young person. We know from the trans-widows threads here that these problems are incredibly profound and far-reaching.

This feels like minimising.

The idea that the father made his small child give up the idea and nomenclature of her own dad, just to validate his own self, feels faintly sickening.

Almost like he had the child as a portable, on-demand validation device.

Another apology - hadn't seen the other thread on this! Perhaps best to focus comments on that one.
