I saw another thread recently about creepy Biden. With his hair sniffing and touching young girls and telling them no dating until 30 🤮 now I've just seen he has confirmed he is running for president in 2020! God forbid if he gets into the white house. What to others think of this?

Surely there must be a credible female candidate hiding somewhere? America is a big place after all...

There are plenty of credible female Democratic candidates, but all have either drunk the genderist koolaid or are too afraid to speak out against it, judging, probably correctly, that their fellow elected Democrats would throw them under the bus in a heartbeat to score woke credit. I do wish one of them would woman up and show some real leadership on the issue, though, because although she would face a massive backlash from some parts of the party, it would break the (highly suppressed) debate wide open in the US, and I do think that when that happens the general public will pull us back from the genderist precipice.

As for the comment upthread that Democrats are "stale, pale, and male," that hasn't been equally true of the parties for a number of years now, and certainly not after last fall's election. I attach photos of the new senators and representatives sworn in this January. (Democrats on blue backgrounds; Republicans on pink). That is a real, not imaginary difference in representation between the two parties.

She is not hiding. There are several. Stacy Abrams is unbelieveably inspirational and has utter leadership qualities. I wish she was in the race but I suspect she is biding her time for the right time - next cycle - but god knows where we'll all be by then.

It is utterly depressing that so many democrat candidates are so old. Yeah yeah i know we are not supposed to think badly about old people on MN but frankly I don't want people in their 70s and 80s running my country and apart from the current incumbent I have a whole lot of that coming down the pike. I had elderly parents and inlaws and worked in a company where the older baby boomers were getting out. I know what getting old is like. I am getting older (50s) I will frankly state that someone in their late 70s is highly unlikely to be a good candidate for great leadership - there are black swans but in general just no. And yet the US is probably going to be faced with a choice between a 70 something year old fool/criminal and a 70 or 80 year old whatever. Seriously? No wonder climate change isn't an issue - all the people in government will be dead before it matters (and seem to give 2 shits about their grandchildren)

I am beyond despair on this.

And as for Joe Biden - my dad was older than him - he would no more have sniffed a woman's hair or rubbed her back than he would have urinated in public. NO there was not a different way of doing things back then. Back then men were actually expected to treat women more hands-off. But there were always creeps who invaded your space. Biden is one of them. Considering the rest of the shit out there (kavanaugh - a potential rapist on the supreme court and loved by the establishment - anyone?) he isn't the worst by a long shot. But really - he thinks he is the best the democratic party can put forward in 2020? no he doesn't. He just thinks he is entitled to the office.

Of all the things in the world, I swear to god the US presidential race is the thing most likely to put me off men for life (despite my lovely dear dh and lovely Bils and son etc)

I think Stacey Abrams may run for the Senate. I hope she does. I think she would be in a better position to run for president later if she were in the Senate, and I would love to see her represent my native state.
