Amazing: Man jailed for sexual offence

A man has actually been jailed for taking a condom off during paid rape with a prostituted woman.

He had a history of being an arrogant, threatening, harassing prick.

I am amazed that he got 12 years plus 8 on license. I am surprised that it even got to court.

Isn't it sad that I think that? Usually violence against women is dismissed as of no consequence.

It is probably significant that the police officer in charge of the case was a woman.

Threatened to kill the woman after she went to the police and threatened to kill her grandparents.
Threatened to shoot the female judge in the face with a Shotgun.
He's not just a violent thug, I think he has a few slates loose as well.
Hopefully his violence while inside will mean that he will end up serving a full sentence.

Unpaid rape. He didn’t pay her either, if that report is right.

ILuvBirdsEye · 25/04/2019 07:14

Now this really never happens. I am really surprised.
Maybe we all need our terms and conditions up on a website.

SarahTancredi · 25/04/2019 07:23

I am shocked at this tbh.

Never thought I'd read about a man getting jailed for something like this. Not because it's not serious but because of all the other things men get away with. Even murder

That woman is nothing short of amazing. I cannot fathom the amount of courage and determination it must have taken to report this and go through with the court case. The odds as we know would have been stacked against her. Especially being a prostitute. If you are reading this I'm.so sorry for what happened to you Flowers

Good to see the message is clear with this one. Object to any part of any of it whether you just met, whether you are a prostitute, whether you are married , whether you consented to some of it, and if they continue its rape/assault.

Never thought wed see the day where this would happen. Even once.

I hope she is receiving help and support.

What a disgusting vile man.

Object to any part of any of it whether you just met, whether you are a prostitute, whether you are married , whether you consented to some of it, and if they continue its rape/assault.

This is an unbelievably important message.

I'm glad, for once, that the justice system has given a significant sentence to such a dangerous and sickening offender.

If only they'd treat all sex offences as seriously.

Dodo yes unpaid rape.

As I said, I am amazed.

In Scotland judges have apparently issued the following ruling - that a sleeping woman cannot consent to sex. Given the current torrent of misogyny coming from too many Scottish politicians / leaders, I am pathetically grateful to see this:

Article also mentioned a rape referral centre separate from the police. Had not known they existed.

Praise for the woman victim. Must have been very brave to complain about him.

Again, extant thread:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3568052-Man-jailed-for-rape-after-refusing-to-use-a-condom-prostitute-requests

It's much more productive and helpful if we can keep to one thread per topic.

Genderfreelass · 25/04/2019 08:49

It really is so important and every young person needs to be taught this. I'd like to think some teachers would show this article to their secondary pupils but a lot wont purely because it's in the DM.

Weenurse · 25/04/2019 08:55

I think this is a great discussion teachers and parents can have with their older children .
She is a very brave woman and I hope this type of sentence becomes the norm for sexual offenders.

chilling19 · 25/04/2019 09:09

Lang I do check the board, but often don't see existing threads. I am not sure why - perhaps it is because I use the app rather that the site?
