Serious gibberish in the guardian?

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/apr/23/beyonce-pregnancy-black-women

Is it just me or is this a new low for the guardian? I’m sure that there is a genuine problem and point that needs to be discussed, but this was just gibberish, devoid of critical thinking. It reads like a high school essay.

Casually grouping black women and non binary into one category too.

A very serious issue, that should be covered in the Guardian.
But it doesn't seem to have had any editing at all.
It reads like a first draft that needs an edit.
Which is a shame as it could be a powerful piece if polished up a bit.

Yet nothing is inherently wrong with black women or gender-nonconforming people

How revolting that they have to use the deaths of black women to shoe horn in their ‘wokeness’. They couldn’t just let it be about the tragedy of so black women dying, could they?

I read this earlier, I thought it was weird. Surely Beyonce's experience is not really related to the problem they were trying to talk about.
I don't know what it is with the Guardian and Beyonce.

I agree the Guardian opinion piece (just me and my gals sitting on the sofa, watching tv) was poorly written. The issue is real, though, and this is the real article (well researched, written, and edited) that awoke me to it:
Nothing Protects Black Women From Dying in Pregnancy and Childbirth Not education. Not income. Not even being an expert on racial disparities in health care.

Thank you for posting that MsTiggy, a beautiful piece of writing that actually explains the issue.
