TK Maxx and children’s toys

Is it just my local TK Maxx or has anyone else noticed how in the children’s toy isle that TK Maxx have a set girls and boys toys sections.

Within the girls sections was check outs, toasters, pots and pans along with all the standard pink stuff and the boys was kites, trucks and cars.

I was looking for a present for a boy which I would have thought this type of layout would have made it easier and quicker for me to find something but I wanted to buy him a shopping till and toy food.
It didn’t strike me as a girly toy.
I think they could do better

Have you been in a big toy store recently? A Smyths, for example?

I completely agree and in my house we go down “boys and girls aisles whether that’s clothes or toys.” However dies it really matter just go to the “girls section” and pick up what you want? If it’s “pink” it doesn’t matter as boys can have stereotypical girls colour too. As a patent you can teach kids it doesn’t matter and most kids know this. My son does a predominantly male sport and the number of makes that choose to wear pink jerseys is really high.

Txmaxx is particularly bad they have shitty signage over the clothes as well. Something like "cool hard wearing clothes for boys" "pretty fashionable for the girls" or some such bullshit

By accident or design, my local Sainsburys is a breath of fresh air for childrens' clothing. There is a section losely labelled for girls and another for boys but that's as a far as it goes. Beyond that, more or less everything is in together. There are pink socks in the boys' section and dinosaur onesies and spiderman pjs in the girls'.

Any child could go in and just pick out what they liked.

And all I've seen is people peacefully browsing shelves with no sign of sex-based existentialist crises and confusion as a result
