The worrying thing is not so much her views but the fact I've seen her on tv discussing her child's care, and she doesnt have any sort of healthcare knowledge at all. Not even an informed amateur's level, she has nothing. What are her qualifications ?

This person has absolutely no business advising anyone on healthcare of any sort let alone prepubescent children! I cannot believe any health authority would give her very clear agenda an ounce of validity! Words fail!

What is the HSJ? Is it mainstream/respected? Never heard of it but that article is sympathetic & uncritical.

HSJ = Health Services Journal, for professional services-type managers in the NHS. Donkeys years ago I worked in an NHS trust and we had a subscription for the department. It was not a ripping read, but our managers liked it.

Health Services Journal is for the managers in the health care professions.

Absolutely terrifying. I know that we have a shortage of health professionals, but really?

A woman who took her child abroad for hormone treatment because they were under age in the UK, then took her child abroad for genital surgery, which again, they were too young for in the UK, which in turn caused an entire country to change its laws so such a thing could never happen again, and who has no medical qualifications whatsoever is a good person to be advising the NHS on prepubescent healthcare is she?

Due to the fact that I might get deleted for my views on the ceo, I just want to say that the desire to take gender identity disorder out of psychiatric realms and put it into the the hands of the public means anyone of us can have an opinion.
My opinion is thus valid and my opinion should be heard if we no longer trust professionals to help us provide unbiased, scientific research.
I’m a mum like SG. I have a different perspective. Why is my perspective not allowed to be told? Is it only an affirmative approach that should be heard ? Why is such an approach be the only one to be heard and accepted.? I really don’t understand why I’m wrong and SG is right. We are both mothers. My parenting advocates time, experience, a lived life. SG advocates an alternative. Different perspectives that might seem equally valid. My perspective sadly is not allowed to be voiced.

I’ve birthed & breastfed 5 children for over a year apiece. Can I now have an advisory role writing midwifery & breastfeeding guidelines for the NHS and other interested parties and stakeholders. I have no actual clinical experience but my own lived one. Isn’t that how this works?

Yep. You are an expert. In fact I really do think you are an expert. I have had midwifes who aren’t parents trying to preach to me about breastfeeding and when I struggled they tried to say I don’t love my child cause if I did my milk would flow. They forgot I give birth at 30 weeks and my body was not primed for it or able to deal with the shock. Thankfully a midwife who had kids told me the difficult I was experiencing a result of a child born too early and stress. As a mum of 5, I would take your expertise over a non parent, non breastfeeding mum.

Lived experience is the most important ingredient when advising professional, regulatory bodies.

I assume she also has skills in working independently and as part of a team

That's a bit weasily isn't it - 'Professional'

I mean, in normal understanding, you'd think that meant people in the association would have to be relevant professionals, like solicitors, or barristers, engineers, or charter surveyors, doctors, nurses etc. all have professional bodies they are members of.

This journal is aimed at the health professional managers, team leaders, all those people in 'middle management' roles.

These people are the puppets of the bigger picture.
They are overstretched but they have been signing policies and not reading them.

They are instructed to make sure all their staff participate in diversity awareness (mandatory) training.

Yet they are overstretched.

I believe this has come from the World Health Organisation where they have reclassified Gender Dysphoria as no longer a mental health issue.
The reclassification of diseases is Important here. It will change the course of statistical reports.

There must be a significance to this official change as it alters the treatment pathway.
