I cant find the reports from the BBC website, these are from The Sun;

www.thesun.co.uk/news/8806406/squaddie-rape-soldiers-sex-attack-sleep-girl/

www.thesun.co.uk/news/8802897/six-soldiers-held-in-sex-attack-quiz/

A 17 year old female soldier woke to find 7 men standing around her bed. 6 have been arrested and one has been charged with rape.

And apparently, ''Lincolnshire Police are investigating the latest sexual assault allegation against a soldier.''

Confusing couple of articles from the Sun there. Not sure what to make of the fact that the only unit mentioned was 9 RLC Regiment. It wasn't clear that this was the Regiment involved in the sexual assault.

We played against them in charity rugby match couple of years back - I remember thinking at the time that there were a load of South Pacific Islanders on their team. Seems that they are the most 'ethnically diverse' regiment in the British Army. The Regiment recruits heavily from commonwealth countries.

I think 10% of the British Army are Fijian.

Thing about the Army is that it fosters Regimental identity. Culture varies greatly from the cautious and thoughtful to the gung-ho etc. As mentioned elsewhere, Bloody Sunday would never have happened with almost anyone except the Paras. Then there was the racism in the Household Division, challenged by the Prince of Wales.

That’s true of any northern hemisphere rugby team tbh.

Not sure why Pacific Islanders are being mentioned

Overall, 12% of the British Army is foreign.

sawdustformypony · 08/04/2019 13:38

Would have thought it differs regiment to regiment.

I am confused about the turn this thread has taken.

I think I understand the implication but I hope I'm wrong.

JessicaWakefieldSV · 08/04/2019 20:17

Also confused.... I certainly hope my assumption is wrong too.

To which I say BOMALT.

What does this mean please? Google is not forthcoming with an explanation.

boatyardblues · 08/04/2019 22:46

Agree this thread has taken a peculiar turn.

BentCoppersOnly · 08/04/2019 22:54

I think BOMALT is but only men are like this.
