Link isn’t working for me.

Does anyone have another share token?

ImGenderfree · 07/04/2019 09:03

My children’s primary school has a meeting coming up shortly where parent can talk to the HT about developments in school. I am going to ask how they plan to introduce the Govt new guidelines on sex and relationships education from Sept 2020. Does anyone know if NYCC have any toolkits and what they are based on?

ImGenderfree · 07/04/2019 09:05

Thanks, it works. I hope more parents will question this.

Trouble is, Stonewall and co have done such a good job of conflating the T with the LGB that if you question the T (as I did with our headteacher) they also think you're a homophobic bigot. The irony, given this cult's homophobia!

OldCrone · 07/04/2019 09:21

The final straw came when another friend’s teenage daughter, who has short hair and wears trousers, was approached by a teacher who asked if she wanted to join a support group for gender-questioning children.

What is it the trans lobby say about them not 'making anyone trans'? As soon as they start suggesting that there is something different or not right about a child who isn't 100% gender conforming, this is exactly what they're doing.

OldCrone · 07/04/2019 09:30

Gendered Intelligence said the Trans Toolkit explicitly challenges gender sterotyping

Gendered Intelligence must think that 'challenge' is a synonym of 'reinforce'. Not very intelligent.

Just looked at school’s equality policy and it’s an NYCC standard one that replaces sex with gender. I’m going to write to both i’m Going to look through some of the threads here as I need to find a suggested wording. If anyone knows of one could you let me know,

The government published some Frequently Asked Questions about Relationship and Sex Education on 5th April

Good to see the guidance is being reviewed, though.

"The final straw came when another friend’s teenage daughter, who has short hair and wears trousers, was approached by a teacher who asked if she wanted to join a support group for gender-questioning children."

I hate all of this. It's everything that was fought against. Being judged on outward appearance - the insinuation that someone cannot possibly be female if they don't abide by the rules of what it is to be a woman (long hair, make up, etc).

Having said that, I would actively want anyone who is trans to get as much support as possible, I would never, ever want to deny anyone that.

I just feel so sad at the moment. The current media climate is awful. All of the progress that was made. I'm scared in the future it may be going backwards, if it hasn't started to already. I don't want to lose sight of the huge amount of progress. But I just want women and girls to be able to dress how they want, act how they want, do anything they want, without being ushered into a segment that essentially says you're not a woman. You're a man. Because only men do these things (Short hair, tomboy outfit). It's wrong!

Candidpeel · 07/04/2019 12:07

And the Equality and Human Rights Commission's guidance for schools is now over a year late. They trailed it with great fanfare with gendered intelligence and Mermaids www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/our-work/news/transgender-children-failed-system-warns-equality-chair

What's the betting that anything the EHRC could come out with which is actually in line with EA2010 would not be acceptable to the trans lobby and that's what's holding it up.

GColdtimer · 07/04/2019 12:28

@Trousering it is. It's the Oxfordshire thread. On phone so can't link.

GColdtimer · 07/04/2019 12:40

@teawamutu it is being reviewed but the head of children's services in Oxford would not take it down pending review and found nothing "objectionable" about it. They have however asked for a definitive list of problems which they have been given along with an offer to meet to discus face to face. Every school in Oxfordshire was written to by this group quoted to raise awareness of the issues because OCC refused to tell them the guidance had not been assessed or reviewed before being rubber stamped.

GColdtimer · 07/04/2019 13:45

Yes that's the one
