If we are half of the population, why don’t we have more power...?

Sorry but I’m at the end of my tether right now. WHY are all organisations, charities, companies, the Government bowing down to the agenda of the trans rights movement when they are a tiny minority of the population? This has the potential to negatively affect every woman in the UK and there are millions of us. Why are we so seemingly so unable to affect the direction in which this is going? Why is no one listening to us when, by sheer dint of numbers, we should be a really powerful pressure group?

Can anyone explain this to me..????

Patriarchy

Because underneath it all, the TRA movement is a (white) male lead movement. So of course everyone listens.

Many people still don't know about it, others refuse to believe it will be allowed to happen- a friend of mine told me not to worry, the government won't let it happen. Ha! Others just can't think the whole thing through to its logical conclusions.

Yes but... we have both truth and numbers on our side...

The one word answer is misogyny.

Which I suspect is the same reason that data concerning women is not recorded, though we are supposed to pretend it is all just one big coincidence that the people in power don't distinguish between women and proper humans.

It's the one indisputable fact that proves The Patriarchy.

This explains it better than any other woman ever could

Germaine is so right. Unfortunately, not all women will speak out or fight for women’s rights.... many prioritise the approval and needs of men.

Yeh, I've been banging my drum about it forever now and no one is listening to me. My partner thinks I'm exaggerating, my mum thinks it won't happen because "common sense will prevail" and everyone else just thinks I'm a bigot. Yes, if every woman in the UK was as galvanised about it as we are it would stop (hopefully?!) but most don't give a shit. They don't know, aren't interested in knowing, and many who do know think it's fine and dandy. It's turkeys voting for fucking Christmas and I can't get my head around it.

Were those rules of misogyny written specifically about TRAs? Because every single one of them hits the mark.

SirVixofVixHall · 06/04/2019 20:44

I have also had the “oh but that will never happen “ thing from other women. Plus the “no man would ever identify as a woman just to gain access to women’s spaces “ Hmm

Women don't have power, men do.

Trans has been a wake-up call for women, especially feminists, in the west, providing the evidence of how unfree we really are. We only exist at men's convenience, which means our ability to self-determine is non-existent. Men decide who and what we are, not us.

Were those rules of misogyny written specifically about TRAs? Because every single one of them hits the mark.

I can't lay claim to them, I believe we are indebted to the brilliant and sorely missed thebewilderness for compiling the list.

Beneath their surface differences anti-women activists all share the same underlying attitudes. None of them see women as real human beings with thoughts and feelings that are equally valid to their own. They have the emotional maturity of raging toddlers.

They might be TRAs, MRAs, incels or members of some other woman-hating group that will gain traction next year. They might just be your common or garden perennial domestic abuser, cat caller, flasher or rapist. Or even just that vast majority of ordinary blokes who choose not to read books that have been written by women, or see films that have a predominately female cast, without ever having given it any concious thought, because they really don't feel that female experiences have any relevance in their world.
