Madigan's latest campaign

Madigan may be seeking attention again (long track record of this), but it seems their latest campaign is to become an MEP.

In between receiving corporate freebies they want to "stand up for" and show "solidarity" for "working-class women".

I believe so red but that's okay because we all know how fashion and lifestyle magazines are about helping people.

Out of xer depth in a puddle

Absolutepowercorrupts · 06/04/2019 19:19

Beat me to it mockers

buzzbobbly · 06/04/2019 19:30

Ah whatever Lils.

Their "campaign" for period poverty consisted of a single photograph with some lipstick wording on their shocking great mitt and never more a word said about it (unless questioned, whereupon said photo would be produced)

I suspect this campaign will be similarly lightweight fake.

dillydallyXX · 06/04/2019 22:21

I'm not sure Madigan would be able to stand though. Attached are the criteria - and the next to last one states that a candidate must be of sound mind.

Madigan has spoken before of being sectioned, and said it had been the worst day of their life. They have also tweeted about the medication for schizophrenia that they have taken.

Tbf someone could have a history of mental health problems and still be of sound mind.

I thought Madigan said they had schizophrenia but it wasn't diagnosed?

RedToothBrush · 06/04/2019 22:42

dillydallyXX they look like they are Irish criteria for MEP candidates.

I've just looked at the UK ones and I don't seem to see anything similar. Maybe I missed it.

I know that a history of mental health issues were removed as a barrier to becoming an MP fairly recently in the UK.

I do therefore wonder if disqualification is a relic of Irish domestic law.

EvelynShaw · 06/04/2019 22:43

Christ. This would be more humiliating than Brexit.

dillydallyXX · 06/04/2019 22:52

@RedToothBrush

Thank you for pointing that out! Sorry for posting incorrect information.

I dislike Lily and don't think Lily would be capable of doing the job, but the barrier being purely down to a blanket mental health ban is not a nice one. It's why the law in the UK was removed because it disqualified many capable individuals who had conditions managed or not severe in the slightest.

Popchyk · 06/04/2019 23:27

"Christ. This would be more humiliating than Brexit".

Nah, it would be hilarious.

Madigan and Jean-Claude Junker selfies in front of the Mannekin Pis would be beyond awesome.

Make. It. Happen.

I'd pitch in for a crowdfunder for Madigan's campaign but the money would only go on gold lame tracksuits.

HazardGhost · 06/04/2019 23:33

Isn't being an MEP a little economic for Lil's? It's not like the EU is like stonewall.

Why (at a time of national political crisis or any other time) would anyone vote for an a student with absolutely no political experience to be an MEP? What a very strange idea to propose.

Being an MP or an MEP is a unbelievably relentless, complex, professional work- this seems like treating it like an award on the X factor where you just need to turn up with a compelling back story and then anyone could ‘win’.

HorsewithnoLycra · 07/04/2019 09:11

People will vote for a donkey if it's wearing the right colour rosette.

Sexnotgender · 07/04/2019 10:43

Interesting @MNHQ deleting my post that was a direct quote from the article posted...

FerdinandAndHisMassiveBalls · 07/04/2019 11:33

dillydallyXX · 17/04/2019 09:28

And now identifying as an RMT member! It's the gift that keeps on giving.

And the giant hand engulfing that poor woman's hand. She looks very uncomfortable.

Memeface · 17/04/2019 13:32

Every time I see Madigan face, I feel angrier that I have to actually LIE out loud about the sex of humans like this, whilst all the time the truth is screamingly obvious.

PerpetuaTitling · 17/04/2019 14:11

Surprised to see her cosying up to the RMT; they are very pro Brexit.

Cor! And there was I, thinking Farage’s pound shop Union Jack flags (complete with suction cups) were the most embarrassing thing we’d ever sent to EU Parliament...

dillydallyXX · 18/04/2019 09:32

But we don't have to lie about this. Madigan themselves have said they are biologically male and chose to identify as female in their teenage years.

They have spoken quite openly about this.

As long as we are not offensive, why on earth could we not mention Madigan is a biological male, when they themselves have said they are?
