It's rather Glorious (waiting for Gloria Steinem to peak trans but not holding my breath)

They tweeted and posted this on Facebook yesterday.

So many women pushing back!
Also noted: there are a lot more TRAs on twitter than FB on my feeds.

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Trans rights are human rights. This is not up for debate. #TransDayOfVisibility
With the blue and pink man/woman symbol.

[Other news in the US: The Kelsey Group are organizing in advance of the judiciary committee mtg Tuesday. Lot's of phoning Senators today about transing kids. If anyone is interested I could start a new thread on that. Not sure if mumsnetters mind, but we have nothing like this.]

Would love a thread like you suggested!

But I am also American and weary of encroaching too far into this sacred space.

StopThePlanet · 02/04/2019 01:28

*on

Fallingirl · 02/04/2019 01:38

What happens in the US is relevant to most of the world.
When things happen there, they tend to get exported. So I think most women here would be interested in such a thread.

ILuvBirdsEye · 02/04/2019 06:49

Like the "love your body" poster contest. It's great to love your body unless you really really really hate it. In which case, that's fine too - we're with you all the way!

It's all in the number of really s!

YY, I would.

LangCleg · 02/04/2019 10:05

I would also.

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 02/04/2019 10:10

Feminism doesn't have borders.

BettyDuMonde · 02/04/2019 10:43

We have posters/lurkers from all over the English speaking world in here, we should definitely have threads that reflect this!

ILuvBirdsEye · 02/04/2019 12:17

Sorry... meant to also say, it's absolutely fine to have this thread, imho.

Oldstyle · 02/04/2019 15:07

A thread about the USA's response to all this men's rights cobblers would be great. And it's very cheering to read the comments under that barkingly stupid tweet. Women are seriously not impressed!

Anlaf · 02/04/2019 15:42

Yes please to USA thread.

Feminism doesn't have borders.

Agreed.

I think it's good to know what else is happening and where.

SignMeUp · 09/04/2019 23:23

Well all these responses are heartening. It can get pretty lonely out here in the land of wide open spaces.

I have learned so much from UK feminists.

In solidarity Flowers

Off to start a thread about the Kelseys and the HRC
