More appropriation of womanhood?

Glinner retweeted one of these today and I've seen a few similar where TRAs parrot back GC arguments but twist them to suit themselves - terfs are flat-earthers, terfs are MRAs Confused, etc. Besides the bizarre nature of what they are saying , I just thought it was an interesting example of how obsessed they are with the appropriation/colonisation of womanhood, by taking the very words out of our mouths we use to defend ourselves and wearing them as accessories, plus also a new variation on the DARVO tactic. It's all very infantile (no - YOU are!) and reveals how compulsive their tendencies are, so keep 'em coming, I say. I've often thought they like arguing with women not only because they hate us, but because they think that we're all having some sort of girly cat-fight together that validates them as 'real women', which might also explain the use of this technique.

I do find it weird how they parrot the GC arguments here and elsewhere but try and shoe horn their own beliefs in and it just doesn't make sense. It's weird.

ShouldBeCookingDinner · 26/03/2019 05:41

The "no, you are!" juvenile reply springs to mind for me too.

Can I be a NERF (nutjob exclusionary radical feminist)? We know what a woman is and you don’t have to boink a man to be one.

Ereshkigal · 26/03/2019 07:11

They get a kick out of it. The more absurd or outrageous the reversal the bigger the thrill.

mummmy2017 · 26/03/2019 07:14

Just tell them honey you can be what ever you want, but you can't fool Mother Nature.

Doyoumind · 26/03/2019 07:25

I spend a lot of time on Twitter but don't often post so I'm not blocked by even the most prolific blockers. They are also obsessed with how we don't understand basic science/biology 🙄

Katvonmythicbiowoman · 26/03/2019 07:40

Interesting how the shift is towards just discrediting anyone who doesn't agree with them.

They have no credible arguments I guess.

JellySlice · 26/03/2019 07:44

Why do you expect them to make sense?

More appropriation of womanhood?

That’s much lighter reading than Kafka. I’ve had to give up again as it always freaks me out.

Ereshkigal · 26/03/2019 08:06

Jelly

That's exactly it. I've used that quote many times about them. They think they can define words however they want and it's just as valid to use them to mean something completely opposed to what they mean - just like they can reframe reality to make them the opposite sex.

The reversals are part of that. There's an element of "duping delight" when they get away with it, as they frequently do.

I can't think of another 'oppressed' group that ever displayed such mindblowing stupidity while thinking they're the smartest guys in the room. They can't possibly be older than 12, although I've had more challenging discussions with 8 year olds.

abuseofpowercomesasnosurprise · 26/03/2019 11:05

They can't possibly be older than 12 That's the annoying thing, a lot of the time it is very young people posting these sorts of nonsensical statements. The woke masses feel so afraid to even engage their brain on this debate that they just join in the chant of 'believe trans kids' without actually listening to what the kids are saying, and thus not realising that much of it is teenage angsty horseshit. I remember Josie Long's statement last week said - 'I believe trans people' - what, all of them, all of the time and without question? Were you f*in born yesterday?! What other group of people on the planet would anyone say that about?

PS - before anyone mentions it, I also didn't like the 'believe women' catchphrase that went around for the same reasons (although I would say it's far more based upon reason). Have just realised that the TRA's have appropriated this saying from the women's movement too, they really can't let women have anything for themselves, can they?

Yes. All the shitwork, cooking cleaning, running the house, being paid less...

Spokk · 26/03/2019 13:32

*i don’t have a problem with the cooking and caring, but its the expectation that lowly women should be expected to hold onto lower roles.

abuseofpowercomesasnosurprise · 26/03/2019 14:30

Nope, I'm afraid they've appropriated that too - and of course do it so much better than women, because they wear a filly little uniform whilst doing it (once a week).www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/oct/26/my-life-in-sex-50-year-old-man-who-likes-to-be-dominated
