The Proud Trust training at Deputy Headtearcher conference

The Proud Trust www.theproudtrust.org/
is delivering a session on LGBT inclusivity at a deputy headteacher event in Warrington. At face level, that sounds positive.

But looking at its Twitter feed, the organisation supports comments by Peter Tatchell, Christine Burns, Stonewall and others who would call for the removal of single sex protections. It also opposes the views of Sharron Davies and co. that sex segregation should exist in sport.

There's a lot of word salad and talk of gender ID on their feed/site.

I'd not heard of them before and I can see they deliver training to children in schools and educators.

Is anybody aware of this organisation and/or attending the conference?

We came across The Proud Trust when Jess Bradley's wife wrote about reporting Bradley's behaviour to The Proud Trust.

www.sarahmcculloch.com/statement-jess-bradley/

"With ATH and NUS seemingly compromised, there is a third organisation conducting an investigation, the Proud Trust, an LGBT youth charity in Manchester who run the LGBT centre in Sidney Street among other things. I have spoken to them on the phone and they have said there are a number of safeguarding concerns which have been raised and they are receiving disclosures from any individuals who will be treated with confidence and respect, supported if they wanted the police involved but otherwise nothing will happen without the consent of the individuals involved unless they were under 18 at the time as they will have a statutory duty to disclose this".

If the Proud Trust is investigating Bradley, then clearly Jess Bradley was involved with them in some capacity.

The Big Lottery Fund gave the Proud Trust 800K last year.

I remember that The Proud Trust used funding from the Tampon Tax to fund a 'trans youth' conference! So money raised by taxing women on their biology was spent on a conference denying this biology. I found the original thread on twitter: twitter.com/WomenHaveWombs/status/993387741063929856

Thanks. I wonder what they will tell deputy HTs? Will find a link to this event in case anyone is going.

It's the Deputy Head Teachers Conference 2009, organised by the Warrington Training Hub.

Rachel Williams of The Proud Trust will lead the 'Positive Inclusion of LGBT'
I hope that includes women.

The organisation seems to go into lots of primary schools and, given its anti women tweets, what is it teaching girls?

Oh Lord, does it ever end? So another wave of school leaders fed this nonsense.
