I see a lot of people are praising Michael Heseltine's speech at the anti-Brexit march yesterday.

If Theresa May goes this week that means Hezza will have played a role in bringing down both of UK's female prime ministers.

I am just waiting for some terrible cod-“feminist” take on this angle to appear in one of the papers.

Ah but men stabbing each other in the back is to be expected, whereas for women, it’s not very “feminine”.

@nettie434

That's quite a typo you've got there!!

There is a discussion to be had about whether Michael Hestletine would have behaved differently if Margaret Thatcher & Theresa May had been women.

Never trust a man who has to buy his own furniture Hmm Grin

DolorestheNewt · 26/03/2019 09:40

Garth
Or, alternatively, "You can generally trust a man who had to work to buy his own furniture far more than the man whose father could afford to buy it for him"
And on no account trust Alan Clark Smile

Lass is right, there was a proper leadership election, and other people did want the job.
Or did Gove just pretend to want it?
TM was widely predicted (even on here) to fall off the glass cliff and be gone within months, yet she has been PM for almost as long as Gordon Brown now.

terrible cod-“feminist”

I prefer tuna feminists, myself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

BertrandRussell · 26/03/2019 10:16

Alan Clark didn’t say the thing about furniture by the way-he just quoted it.

DolorestheNewt · 26/03/2019 11:55

BertrandRussell Yeah, it doesn't seem to be clear who said it originally. But my point about trusting Alan Clark stands in all possible circumstances, I feel. Smile
(There was a rumour it was Soames.)
