He’s changed his tune. He published some utter drivel on gender last year - he admitted he didn’t know what he was talking about, but nonetheless came down in favour of the TRAs:

Maybe after writing that column where he admitted he didn't know what he was talking about he went off and 'educated himself'. Shame Penny Mordaunt hasn't done the same.

I don't think it's difficult for people to change their minds at the moment. Now that the dreadful reality of the bullying, threats, misuse of the police, targeting schools and children not to mention eliminating women's sport and sex segregated spaces are out in the open, even the wokest of the woke struggle to defend what's happening. Add Karen White into the mix......

That's a good article, stating that Penny Mordaunt's has got this wrong. We need more like this.

He’s a lazy coward. His last column was written when the Tory line was that trans was the new section 28 and therefore a great way to get the yoof vote from Corbyn, and it was only pissing off a few women so being pro-trans was easy-peasy.

Now that loads of other people have done the heavy lifting on the story, and brave women like Martina and Sharron and Kelly have stuck their necks out and given it a bit of oxygen, Young has now realised it’s a handy stick to beat “the Left” with so he’s on board.

He’s an opportunist. The only sign this gives me is that the right wing backlash against LGBT has really started (because Young is a follower, not a leader), which is precisely the fear I’ve had about TRA overreach.

With my Pollyanna head on, it shows that the heavy lifting is having an effect though. As pointed out here, the issues in sport affect men and have peaked a lot of people. Martina, Sharron & Kelly have reached a wider audience, and feminists continue to state the facts.
