Domestic Violence: The Times investigates

The Times have a series of investigative articles today about arrest rates for DV plummeting. Apparently 1 in 5 of women murdered by their partners had already been in contact with the police. There are at least 5 articles but here's share tokens for two of them:

It's great that the Times is looking into this, but the facts in that article are depressing.

What's particularly depressing is that they apparently don't have time for policing domestic violence but they do have time to follow up on someone reporting hurty feelz from something they've read on twitter including sending officers out.

(and thanks for the share token to that article OP - you've done the same article twice btw.... so important worth posting twice though I reckon)

Indeed Ineed
The police's priorities at times seem totally skewed. The London homicide figures are alarming:

Damn. At least I've shared another one.

The Times really do report issues of concern to women - not what I initially expected when I left the Guardian. I've been really impressed.

I got a Facebook ban for asking police Scotland how they planned to keep DV victims safe if they chose to report.

I was ignored over and over again, so I kept asking. Every time they posted a shiny new "initiative" I asked about how women and children would be protected from abusers, given that conviction rates and sentences are beyond woeful.

Still haven't had a reply. They don't give a fuck.

That last link didn't open for me...

I'll give some of them a go

The next story is the one linked upthread, then this is the one that wouldn't open for me
