I would like to express admiration for a woman who made a very difficult decision

The mother of the murderer of Alesha MacPhail. She alerted police to the fact that CCTV showed her son coming in and out of his home in the early hours of the morning.

It makes me feel sick just thinking about seeing the footage of ones son and having to make that call. Brave decision.

Agreed. She put the safety of others before her own child. An awful decision to have to make and a dreadful tragedy.

It doesn't bear thinking about.

She must be absolutely in pieces, but she's a brave, brave woman and utterly principled.

I am not clear if she thought he did it, she said 'she saw evidence of her son leaving the property and called the police “to eliminate him from their inquiries”.'

I was amazed when I read it. I could imagine the sinking feeling when she saw him. It took a huge amount of bravery.
