Was thinking about buying their new album anyway, so I might pop in the record shop later and pick up a copy.

God I love this, have been playing the album all morning. Got my tickets for May and I really hope she tours with them.

I have never for one second thought that Too Much Too Young was mysoginistic! The town I grew up in in the late 70’s was full of girls of my generation who had kids at 16 and lost out on so much potential for work and education - they did do too much too young for the dopey blokes they married too young. Most of my mates like this we’re divorced by 45 and are having a great time now - putting themselves first. That’s what that song means to me anyway.

Too Much Too Young is just a cautionary for all kids surely?

I had kids and married at 19.

Can't see how too much too young is anything other than narrative.

And for me it was true . Successful relationship and fab kids. But too much too young.

Too Much Too Young is gender neutral if you read the lyrics, at no point does it refer to a bloke. I agree with PPs, i am late 40s and as a kid in the late 70s i saw so many young girls marrying young with kids and kind of saw the song directed at both men and women.

I read the article re Saffiya Khan on the BBC website. I was one of the millions that shared her photo in 2017. She is so powerful.
