There's a new consultation in Wales on changing the curriculum.

It covers several areas, including SRE, to be renamed Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE). The changes proposed to the RSE curriculum are outlined in this document:

The report contains the following definition:

Gender identity
‘Gender identity’ is used in this report to refer to a person’s inner sense of self. Gender identity does not necessarily relate to the sex a person is assigned at birth. Feelings about gender identity start early, around the age of 2-3.

How can anyone read that and take it seriously?

The chair of the Panel who compiled that report is Professor Emma Renold of Cardiff University. I haven't looked into her background, but going by that definition of gender identity, I am worried about the type of people who are advising Welsh Government.

The consultation is open until 25th March.

Jeez they are just missing the souls bit aren’t they

These people are hedumacated, right?

Can they not grasp the fact that nobody was 'assigned' a sex or gender or anything in the 50s, 60, 70s, 80s, even the 90s.

This is presentism escaped and running wild in the forest.

Souls weren't mentioned this time, littlbrowndog, but it was always a possibility as the Education Minister, Kirsty Williams, is a Lib Dem.
