Sorry for linking to Facebook.

Some women in the local Greens party made some factual statements and now a formal cleansing is likely going to be needed. And in the meantime I need to go to bed and cry because if I publicly say anything I’ll lose more friends and more support than I can afford.

Imagine people who identify as left wing also being T and SW exclusionary. No woman I respect hates sex workers - though many have pretty strong feelings about pimps and brothel owners and could be said to hate the sex/porn industry. And no - saying that women have a right to self identify does not equal hatred for anyone, ever.

This is why I won’t judge the women who have built bridges and alliances with right wing groups that also hate women. Because there has to be somewhere public that it is acceptable to articulate the problems with this ideology.

I don’t understand how anyone can recognise that the Saudi state explicitly considers women to be the property of men and at the same time believe that womanhood is a feeling. Can someone explain this for me?

That "Alex" character comes across as totally unhinged.

We find ourselves in a crazy world.

No. because males who identify as women do not care about women's rights

they really don't.

and I'm sorry that you will lose support if you speak out Flowers

I’ve NEVER heard a woman express hate for prostituted women. Never. Not a single one, across the whole range of views on prostitution, or across the various feminist or not range or anything else.

This is a mindset of aggression, designed to stop people thinking.

‘I have concerns over the sex industry’ is twisted to hating prostitues
‘I have concerns over self ID’ is twisted to hating anyone trans.

It’s a control technique. Point it out, every time. Every argument that starts with a false premise, every twisting of words, every rhetorical tactic. Point it out.

Alex is clearly enjoying indulging that anger and seems to think the justification is inviolable. He, assuming it is he, should calm it down. Adolescent acting out like this is unwelcome in politics. He ought to understand boundaries and respectful debate better before putting himself in charge of censorship.

I was wondering if the resignation of Alex Bhathal, high profile Greens woman, had anything to do with witch hunting of gender critical women. The Victorian Greens seems to have more than its fair share of unpleasant male sexist so and sos.

Emerencealwayshopeful · 05/02/2019 12:26

Bernardblacks - I KNOW men who identify as women couldn’t care less about actual real cunty types. But the woke leftist handmaiden crowd - some of whom are intelligent and capable of critical thought on other topics - how can they not see this? I keep thinking I’ll wake up and the world will make sense. Lesbians will stop telling me that my feminism is wrong because it is concerned only with those who are female. I won’t be told that I’m speaking over trans voices on trans issues when I admit that I do not ever want to share bathroom space with a person with a penis. It’s very clever, that. Once it’s a trans issue then clearly the only people allowed to speak on that problem are trans.

And Bowlofbabelfish (love that name btw) YES! Men express hatred towards prostituted women. I’ve never ever heard a woman do so. Not ever.

The liberal/national coalition are a nasty bunch of rich pervy white men who enjoy inflicting pain. They are doing all they can to destroy every single positive thing about Australia. The Labor party have barely managed to remember what the opposition is for. The Greens seem to be the only way to disrupt the 2 party system - in our area they have a good chance of a federal seat and very nearly upset our sitting liberal member in the state elections - and we used to be considered the safest lib seat in the state.

But they hate women.

Maybe everybody hates women. There were just a few years in the middle there during which it wasn’t cool to say so.

It’s like they’re trying to make themselves unelectable.

The conspiracy theorist in me notes that the Conservatives threw this particular grenade into the political arena and have now, very stealthily, taken cover and watched how it has ripped other parties apart from the inside. I have no sympathy for Labour, the Greens, Lid dems etc because if you can’t think in a straight line (and hate women) then you have no business being in power, but this does whiff of a “bait and switch” move by the tories.

But yes, they all hate us, they’ve just found a way to say it now.

As for the Saudi thing, no it doesn't make sense to hold these two conflicting ideas but both concepts are anti-women so never mind the cognitive dissonance.

I think we can safely say no AGP male would bother screeching that TWAW in Saudi. If anyone listened, they'd lose what rights they had as a male and have to cover up their feminine fripperies in public anyway.

FaithFrank · 05/02/2019 14:44

It's an ad hominem attack. "Friend of mine in the Greens warned the party about these people ."

If those women sent a document round to all members, it sounds like they want to start a policy discussion. Isn't that what political parties are supposed to do?

VovoBickie · 05/02/2019 20:09

Frightening

Emerencealwayshopeful · 07/02/2019 10:59

Thing is - the other options are so unpalatable that they have to work quite hard to make themselves unelectable.

And with compulsory voting and not a lot of choices, what will people do?

Democracy is broken. We need a better system.
