This certainly puts things in context.

I’m really sad that all of the events and work and organisation have been overshadowed by pretty much endless personal attacks.

I’m genuinely sad.

Flowers to those mothers. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to lose your daughter to a state-sanctioned cult.

BeyondShattered · 28/01/2019 18:29

Thank you Rowan, got it loaded up on my telly ready now

Datun · 28/01/2019 18:42

Very moving.

I know there's a lot of noise, feelings, opinions surrounding this issue, at this precise moment in time.

But that, to me, distils it right down.

Did an on-the-fly partial transcript of the Heritage event here:

Thank you for starting this thread.

Thank you to Posie, the organisers, the women who shared their stories. I really am upset at watching this. I feel like we are living in a really crazy time.... I can’t even put into words what I feel about this anymore.

I have been too scared to wear a t shirt, meanwhile girls are being mutilated and medicalised and families are torn apart.

One thing Posie has achieved today, I will stop being too scared. I’m off to buy t shirts... or hoodies? What is the sizing like? I have big boobs and small waist, usually an 8.

Floisme · 28/01/2019 19:03

I can't load the video so thanks for the transcript.

If this were happening to my child I would talk to anyone who might help. Anyone.

Thank you!

PaleBlueMoonlight · 28/01/2019 21:27

I have just watched the whole thing. It is definitely worth doing. I am glad that Posie is there.

Imnobody4 · 28/01/2019 22:40

Thanks to Posie for doing this. The experiences of these mothers is heartbreaking.

Altitude18 · 28/01/2019 22:49

Heartbreaking.

WokeNotBloke · 28/01/2019 23:11

Watched the whole thing too. Very worthwhile.
😢

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 29/01/2019 00:09

Thank you Posie, hope this gets covered in the media

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 29/01/2019 08:30

Just dreadful for the families involved and obviously for the children themselves

Mner2019 · 29/01/2019 08:32

Thanks for sharing and to posie for being there. Heartbreaking what is going on.

Iused2BanOptimist · 29/01/2019 09:04

What a brilliant line up of panellists. I feel so sorry for the mothers who have found no place to go to get help to prevent their daughters being sterilised, mutilated and drugged.
I still can't understand how this has all happened so quickly and so silently. The emasculating of the medical profession and all the normal protections of evidence based treatment, backed up by the law just shocks me to the core.

SandyDrawsBadly · 29/01/2019 10:30

I’ve read a lot of things since yesterday about “I would never do that” and I just don’t know. I think that when it comes to your children a lot of “I would never’s” go out of the window.

What I took from the video was that there are mums in a terrible position in the US where they’ve never, ever been right wing but the only place that would host them was. I saw someone saying that they would ally themselves with those mums by going to the meeting, despite who was hosting it.

I would never steal, until my daughter was starving.
I would never assault someone, until someone attacked my daughter.
I’d never get involved with people smugglers, until I found myself in a war zone and wanted my child to get to safety.
I would never attend a meeting hosted by a right wing group, even if all the speakers were left wing,,,,

It’s so easy to have principles when you’re not backed into a corner. Then, when it comes to my daughter, I’d die if it would save her, on whatever cross it meant.

Well said, Sandy. These parents are in a desperate position. All the people they assumed could helptherapists, doctors, journalists, politiciansare either brainwashed or intimidated by transactivists' bullying tactics.
