Not sure if this has been posted already but there is a petition to try and stop Graham Linehan from appearing on an Irish current affairs programme tonight discussing the damage trans activists can do.

Not surprised as here in Ireland we seem to be completely oblivious to this situation and accepting of it in all ways

Just came on to see if anyone had posted that article yet :)

It doesn't sound like RTE has any intention of deplatforming Graham. He's probably the biggest name among all the interviewees. I haven't seen the petition itself so don't know how many signatories it has yet... I suppose most of them will be from outside of Ireland anyway.

NotTerfNorCis · 22/01/2019 08:53

Wishing Glinner best of luck for tonight.

Ereshkigal · 22/01/2019 08:56

Hope there will be a video uploaded.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/01/2019 09:02

Good article, demonstrating Glinner's rational, balanced views.

7Days · 22/01/2019 09:09

Great article. And the Times would be pretty woke.
It's made me a little more hopeful. The trailers for the programme don't look great tbh so this is nice to read.

FlawedAmazon · 22/01/2019 09:42

This is the delight who's been harrassing Graham. Apparently they're going to dox all of us Grin

Be afraid....or mildly amused

"He characterises some extreme trans activists who have “glommed on to the movement” as “a mixture of grifters, fetishists, and misogynists”. (There is no suggestion that those who petitioned RTÉ fall into these categories.)

That made me laugh. The Irish Times covering their arse and making sure that they are not targeted themselves.

But yes, a decent article. Well done Graham.

MadamBatty · 22/01/2019 09:54

The issue I have with the article is language. ‘Assigned at birth’. Your sex is observed not assigned.

www.change.org/p/donogh-diamond-rte-to-remove-graham-linehan-piece-from-upcoming-prime-time-show-on-transgender-issues

This is the petition nearly 6,000 signatures - should we set up a counter petition? Don't get the vibe that RTE are going to stop @glinner appearing

MadamBatty · 22/01/2019 10:15

It would be counterproductive to set another petition. These people are showing how they are trying to deplatgorm people with opposing views & close down rational debate.

peanut2017 · 22/01/2019 10:21

I get that meant more to show that there is support for this debate in case RTE are swayed by popular opinion

Presumably while claiming we doxxed them because we shared their tweet? That seems to be the way it works. Hmm

nauticant · 22/01/2019 10:29

I agree MadamBatty. We won't be able to rely on unthinking righteous indignation of a mass of people, the numbers would be smaller, and that would "prove" that deplatforming of Linehan is right. Leave them to their shouting.

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/01/2019 10:29

They missed the Mwahahaha off the end of that tweet.

AngryAttackKittens · 22/01/2019 10:31

RE That Emily person - what, even the people who only post in parking threads, or in the dog section?

WaxMyBalls · 22/01/2019 10:31

They'd best clear their schedule for the next decade or so. That's a lot of doxing.

The Irish Times piece quotes Glinners twitter followers as well over 600,000 ... given that, a counter-petition seems superfluous.

Gertygypsey · 22/01/2019 11:47

Long time FWR board lurker who hopes that Graham is aware that although the tide of social media is overwhelmingly against him today, there are many of us in Ireland who support him but are too afraid to speak out.

Deadringer · 22/01/2019 12:05

I saw this on Facebook and the comments were overwhelmingly in favour of Linehan appearing, in the name of free speech if nothing else. It's not a programme I normally watch but I will be glued to it tonight. Hopefully common sense will prevail.

Annasgirl · 22/01/2019 12:07

Read the IT piece and I was ashamed to read the comments from women (well people with female names) supporting the Trans lobby while the men / male sex people (thanks brothers) all support Graham.

I despair of the female sex sometimes - why do so many females (refusing to use women in this debate any more) sport misogyny???????

peanut2017 · 22/01/2019 12:53

www.buzz.ie/celebs/protestors-graham-linehan-wife-info-rte-trans-314186

They have now gone after his family - releasing information about his wife online.

How the fuck is this allowed? Absolutely disgraceful and is so transparent about how fearful they are of any real debate

FlawedAmazon · 22/01/2019 13:05

Anyone can see that the guy's unhinged StarsAndWater yet he's given a platform to threaten and abuse at will.

It's a whole other level of crazy.

peanut2017 · 22/01/2019 17:11

Good luck to Graham for tonight. Be sure that there are plenty of people supporting your view.
