Update on the famous Dr H

Just had an update today from the GMC. They are concerned about his abuse of women and doxxing of Posie. They are regarding this as behaviour unbecoming of a doctor and likely to bring the profession into disrepute. Also taking our concerns about treating vulnerable people etc. He has been informed that the investigations are ongoing.

He is right (logically he HAS to be sometimes right?!) that patients shouldn't have to deal with that. Both the not having a translator at all, and their medical professional focusing more on fucking twitter than them. However, am I right in thinking he is still working at A+E rather than in a general surgery? I think if its A+E its a bit more believable that a translator is not available short notice, than in a GPs where there will be advanced knowledge of the patients inability to speak English.

Meanwhile, there is simply no excuse at all to make tweeting through someones assessment any better. As usual, his anger is directed at an odd place, given the circumstances.

Well done WineBrewCakeGinStar

HouseOfMouse · 19/01/2019 03:16

That “Muslim woman” sock does seem to have a very similar turn of phrase to the good doctor. Can it be verified that it is in fact a sock? If so, it would definitely be worth adding that to the GMC complaint.

NotANotMan · 19/01/2019 06:32

We use telephone translators at work for phone calls and occasionally face to face via speakerphone if it's a short and simple interaction. Never had a problem finding an interpreter to speak any language (but sometimes their system is down meaning you can't get one)

Poppyred85 · 19/01/2019 09:06

I think he’s trainee GP (horrifying) so he will only be able to look at the notes of patients registered with the surgery he is working in. There is no PNC database of patients (attempts to set up national computerised records have flopped repeatedly). As a GP I can only look at the notes of patients registered in my surgery and all of that can be audited. If he is based in a hospital he would only be able to see records of people treated within that hospital trust. It’s a number of years since I worked in a hospital but at that point most notes were still paper records and you only had the notes of patients who were on any given ward at that time. Somethings such as blood and x Ray results were computerised and secretaries can look at hospital letters relating to episodes of care within the trust. Hope that helps.

I disagree that he is talking bs about the translator we have a lot of E European patients and have to use language line because the NHS will no longer pay for face to face translators. This means a lot of time is wasted giving my details and spelling my name and location after I have got through and then hoping the correct language interpreter is available and sometimes there isn't one. I only get a Romanian interpreter about half the time. The other times I have to guess or we do google translate on phones.

DisrespectfulAdultFemale · 19/01/2019 09:34

Thank you, MrsK, for the update.

Fanny is odious. I hope he is struck off.

nettie434 · 19/01/2019 09:37

Belated thanks Mrskeats
I see there are a few comments on Twitter about the sock account. Muslima Islam certainly doesn’t tweet like a woman wearing a headscarf. Think she has been reading the insulting words for older men thread. And being horrible to Mrkhtake2. Strangely, Mrkhtake2 reported these tweets to Twitter support but complaint was rejected

At my trust we have annual information governance training, as I'm sure all NHS employees do, it's a national requirement. Depending on your role IT limit your access. For instance I can't access the radiology app to look at patient X-rays, whilst physios can, as well as Dr's obv.
The data protection laws mean you should only access the information you need to access, you can't just click on a patient and browse through their details because you fancy a nosy. (Well you can, but you would be in breach of the law).
It is always impressed on us that we should not access the lab results to eg check results from our own blood tests we could have had at the gp or those of a family member. This is randomly monitored and they always catch people who do it. Apparently not so long ago they caught someone high enough up in the trust that it was difficult to find someone senior enough to disciple them.
Part of my current job means checking patient prescriptions for anticoagulants in order to make arrangements prior to certain procedures. I go on the NHS spine which gives me access to all patients registered with a GP (unless they have opted out) and can view all their current prescriptions and some past, I'm not quite sure how far back it goes historically as that's not information I'm looking for.
Sometimes other details are recorded, I think it varies with GPs what they put on the spine.
Within the hospital I could click on any patient to view all the details recorded on our system so as part of my job I will look through the clinic letters and summaries in the documents section to check certain details.
I doubt a gp can access this but a locum at a hospital obviously can.
I know IT do audits and I am careful only to access the information I need and can justify - not just because I know it is audited but it is the law.

Also I don't want people nosing through my details, so I wouldn't do it to someone else.

Tbh gossip is the biggest breach factor imo. When I was first pregnant with DD1 my GP told his girlfriend who was a nurse at my unit and promptly told everyone else. Angry
When I next saw my GP he apologised and I was happy with that because he dumped the girlfriend who was more at fault as far as I was concerned. He shouldn't have told her but she shouldn't have told everyone and as well as breaching my privacy she put him in a difficult position.
But that sort of thing is all too common. A friend was furious that a secretary let slip she had seen her amino result and knew what sex baby she was expecting when she herself had chosen not to be told the sex. The secretary claimed she had happened to see it whilst filing results.

I don't suppose AH poses any more risk of this sort of behaviour than anyone else, besides he's too busy on twitter to have time to snoop.

Bowlofbabelfish · 19/01/2019 12:38

If Harrop wants to abuse women, he would be better using an anonymous account. The fact that he uses his real name etc. suggests that he's quite thick...

I doubt he’s academically thick. He has the same ‘I’m untouchable’ mindset as do many of the names players in this drama. AC posing at the bottom of a loft ladder for a photo for example.

They think they’re untouchable- and with good reason because a lot of them are - JY for example. They’re protected passively bubpeoples unwillingness to question, and actively by the chilling effects of ‘transphobia’ accusations, police harassment, misuse of the legal system.

We still have rule of law in this country. We need to start enforcing it, speaking out, and actively opposing changes to the law that would stop us from doing so. This is a pivotal time

verytireddontknowwhattodo · 19/01/2019 12:42

Who is this person? Can someone give me the background? He sounds horrendous.

Can anyone help? She (journalist) is looking for screen grabs of Harrop demanding donations.

Bluestitch · 20/01/2019 16:50

He told Metro and Primesight they should make donations to Stonewall and Mermaids for daring to facilitate the views of GC women. I don't have twitter account anymore, just lurker now but these might help if anybody can send them to her.

He threatened to dox @DJLippy
And demanded a donation to mermaids to back of if I'm remembering correctly

Katispancuddly · 20/01/2019 17:29

*off

sackrifice · 20/01/2019 17:30

He threatened to dox @DJLippy**

It was no threat. He did indeed reveal DJLippy's personal details.

Bluestitch · 20/01/2019 17:34

He did dox Lippy, and told her that he would only delete the identifying information if she deleted her account and got off twitter forever. He's not averse to blackmail himself.

Freespeecher · 20/01/2019 17:34

I'd be wary of using Google Translate as it just seems to translate each word individually with no regard for context. The resulting gibberish could be amusing when translating IT instructions (which is what I used it for) but a bit less amusing if used for medical advice.

www.wordreference.com is a very good site if you need a precise translation for a precise term (but won't translate whole paragraphs in the blink of an eye for you).

Katispancuddly · 20/01/2019 17:56

There was a whole thread collecting screenshots of his crap for the gmc reports. But I can't find it. It would be good to tweet the journalist a link

sashh · 20/01/2019 17:57

However, am I right in thinking he is still working at A+E rather than in a general surgery?

It depends, language line can be useful. One hospital I worked in also kept a list of staff who spoke other languages, obviously they are not a substitute for a professional but can be a useful stop gap.

Danaquestionseverything · 21/01/2019 12:48

I dunno I'm not really convinced it is him. It's definitely someone that regularly interacts (possibly personally knows) with him. I get the impression that the sock account has been long aware of these accusations, and is having fun trolling by hinting to be him in recent posts. Maybe setting up for a ""Gotcha" moment.

Harrop comes across as a weird blend of pompous and pious. His little clique have been aware people are accusing him of having sock puppets for a while. A recently retweeted photo of a group of transwomen having a get together was captioned "a meeting of the Adrian Harrop sock accounts" - or something similar I forget exact wording. My point is this photo was originally tweeted last year. Now retweeted. I think someone is trolling.

That said whoever it is, they are a nasty, vile individual. They are also extremely racist by the very fact of pretending to be a Muslim woman tweeting such utter filth. IMO and it is just that - I'd be looking at TRA's with perhaps politics that lean toward pro brexit, those with a history of belittling Muslims (but in a subtle way).

I could be anyone really...

I'd be surprised if Harrop didn't have a sock account. I just don't feel comfortable saying this is his without better proof. This seems more like a Sprout or that other creeper with the website posting vile stuff about Posie and Caroline.
