"Women" sign = transphobic <sigh>

On a FB group I am on (for funny/interesting pics and the like).

This was posted to show a clever design tweak in the wording style on some women's toilets. No caption or anything, just the image.

Within a few comments, there were claims of "transphobic".

So it appears that anything that excludes men - as men, not just those with the special ladyfeelz they uniquely have - is now transphobic.

"Women" sign = transphobic <sigh>

How is it transphobic?
Men aren't allowed in women's toilets.
Trans women are women, not men.
Where's the problem?

If they think TWAW (which they are not), then where is there issue? How is it transphobic?

They sound like people who physically need something to shout about daily or they can’t make it through the day. They are like the Brexieteer mob but with less dedication to the union flag and more to Owen Jones.

@Sally: I was using their logic.
They say TW are women. The sign says no men.
Surely they want no men too? Only women and transwomen (who they believe are women).
So they are the ones being transphobic by assuming that when the sign sayd no men it means transwomen.
I'm using their logic against them.
Sorry, I thought that was obvious.

I think it's been apparent for some time that they are trans when they^^ say they are and women when they say they are, depending on what gives them the power in any given situation.

That way everyone else is on the back foot all the time.

This logic is both circular and flawed. I asked someone recently on Facebook how the definition of woman was considered both transphobic and hate crime. They had no answer.

In the same way that 'trans' is whoever says they are for whatever reason, so is 'transphobic'.

That sign is brilliant. Not transphobic at all. It would be transphobic if it said no trans people.

I think merely existing as a boring vagina-type woman is transphobic at this point.
Just start every sentence with an apology, (and speak only when spoken to due to that terrible 'cis woman' privilege) and we'll all soon be On The Right Side Of History.
Definitely not on the right side of Herstory though

You can get good size vinyl prints of things like this quite cheaply online now.

Vinyl sticks really cleanly on doors. Like it's always been there.

Also, sorry for posting and then vanishing yesterday, I meant to follow up but work got away with me.

I fully agree with pp who are questioning how on earth this can be transphobic; when the logical outcome of it is that it is ONLY tp IF you believe tw are men and this sign therefore excludes them. (As well it night, given this is the FEMALE facility and they are MALE.)

You know how criminal analysts say people 'leak' information through body language? This is like that, but with the mental disconnects they are furiously pretending they don't have.

On a point of pure pedantry, wouldn't it be transphobic (aka -"ist") ONLY if the sign said no trans people because they are trans people?
