Love the WH editor, whoever that is. The piece is sandwiched by articles that highlight female biology (preserving fertility in girls with cancer, menopause reversal) and appropriation of material reality (white women making money from black culture).

Thanks OP.
I started a thread too as couldn't see one so asked have asked for mine to be taken down Smile
Should be interesting today with the Soul Seer....

CaptainWarbeck · 27/11/2018 10:12

Yes I thought that too Dragon.

Clever choice of programme topics.

Threewheeler1 · 27/11/2018 10:14

Here we go.
Increasing numbers of teenagers with gender dysphoria.
What about safeguarding?
Layla - talks about changing culture of schools.
Jane saying need to centre childs' needs.
Michelle - self-id, too much responsibility for young vulnerable minds. Trans activism putting pressure on schools etc. TRAs have no questions policy = neglecting safeguarding.

Threewheeler1 · 27/11/2018 10:21

Michelle is doing really well.
Fear of being labelled transphobic leads to no questions.
Michelle pointing out that safeguarding rules appear to be applied differently for trans kids. Systems should be applied as per usual safeguarding practice. Parents should know.
Layla arguing that parents don't have a right to know.
She says personal relationship with teacher is more important than standard procedure, so teacher would be breaking trust if parents told.
Layla takes issue with word safeguarding in relation to 'trans' and also 'grooming'. She doesn't recognise social contagion aspect.
Michelle points out kids are vulnerable to grooming online, affirmation
of trans pushed, de-trans difficult. Parents prevented from safeguarding own kids.

littlbrowndog · 27/11/2018 10:24

Layla what an idiot

Threewheeler1 · 27/11/2018 10:25

Yep, she really is an idiot.

littlbrowndog · 27/11/2018 10:26

Michelle was great
Pushback on Layla who of course brought in the experience of her family
Where Michelle spokevabout her actual research. Like you know facts

littlbrowndog · 27/11/2018 10:29

Great when Michelle said lobby groups like stonewall were training schools
Layla was all like let’s be inclusive
Layla has no idea tbh
Michelle used the words grooming an£ social contagion

Datun · 27/11/2018 10:30

Layla Moran is opining about an issue of which she appears ignorant.

She is shocked at the suggestion, apparently online, that transitioning cures autism?

It's from GIRES. Who advise the government and schools.

Do your bloody due diligence.

When I looked at Layla's political CV (on the HoC debate thread) I can't remember being bowled over by her extensive experience in the UK mainstream comprehensive sector.

AdinaVerbina · 27/11/2018 10:36

Did she actually argue AGAINST standard safeguarding procedures for children questioning their gender identity? Really??

Threewheeler1 · 27/11/2018 10:39

She kept trying to interrupt Michelle over her use of the word 'safeguarding'. Don't think she fully verbalised her point but that's where she was heading.
What a dangerous muppet she is. Imagine an ex-teacher and politician not recognising the safeguarding issues with trans kids and the ethical issues surrounding medical treatment of kids?
Scary stuff.

Datun · 27/11/2018 10:42

At least Michelle manage to get broadcast to the nation that a school can change your child's official sex without telling you.

Bloody hell.

So the school will become aware of either social contagion, a psychological condition, or being groomed online, but they won't tell you.

Unless they stupid, which I don’t believe they are, the only other reason someone would promote ‘parents don’t need to know’ are of sinister intent.

Could the red flags been any bigger, it goes against the whole safeguarding policy its useless. Don’t encourage to keep secrets it how adults can abuse so always encouraging keeping lines of communication.

I don’t understand why those in posistion of Authority are not all over this. My emotions are getting better on me as I had an issue about teacher keeping secrets last year, it wasn’t the secret it was harmless but the message it sent out as only 3 children (1 being mine) spoke out but scared of recuperations as they was not allowed to tell anyone.

I can’t expect Moran to soul check every adult in contact with children
