The number of responses seems low (I believe it's over 100,000 for the England and Wales consultation). I'm not sure if that is due to the smaller population (although the consultation was open to the rest of the UK) or fewer people being aware of it.

A very interesting read. Well worth reading.

It was a hidden consultation
I live in Scotland and nobody knew abou5 it
Apart from on here and of course the usual suspects

It don’t even matter if the vote goes against the government they crack on wit wat they want

The SNP will do whatever it wants backed by their bed-partners in government the Greens.

If you don't support their independence agenda you are labelled a traitor, if you don't support their pro trans agenda then you are a trans phobe. They are always right you see.

I have difficulties to imagine how you could show more contempt for your electorate, or parts of it, than this Twitter banner.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 26/11/2018 16:35

Well that just states: 'dear non compliant women, we're scared of your non compliance'.

Confused

Wrong thing to be scared of loves. What you SHOULD be scared of is the public backlash and the bloody great safeguarding juggernaut heading your way that we've been trying to warn you about. (Obviously in too scary a way. Maybe we should have iced it on cupcakes.)

This is the official Scottish government Twitter account, now. A huge own goal - very clear grounds for a legal challenge if they go for self-ID in Scotland on the grounds that the outcome of the consultation was predetermined. Hope somebody picks up the baton!
The context being that the consultation results on self-ID in Scotland have just been announced.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/11/2018 18:53

A very interesting read. Well worth reading.

I'll second that - women's concerns are very clearly laid out, as well as concerns about the bias of the consultation

The SNP National Convenor for Women and Equalities, Fiona Robertson, tweeted about Terfs starting with this:

I can't begin to describe how thrilled I am to see that Scotland's GRA consultation has returned a majority in favour of self-ID. It's not as high as I would like, but given the viciousness of the campaign against it and the lack of positive discussion, it's a really good start.

and ending with .......

We all have a bunch of unconscious biases and learned behaviours/beliefs - being A Racist or A TERF or A Misogynist requires a conscious choice

She has been reported to Twitter, so its likely that the comments about dissenters will disappear

Tweeted by the Scottish Government yesterday:

Any form of violence against women and girls is a fundamental violation of human rights. #HearMeToo #16days

Here's what we're doing to eradicate violence against women and girls in Scotland through our equally safe campaign.

How can they not see the conflict between self ID of legal sex and protecting women and girls? Are they really that stupid?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 26/11/2018 21:26

This is what I don't get - are they really genuinely unable to join the dots? I really really hope they have a good read of the summary of the consultation responses and employ some critical thinking.

I missed this and am Shock

So women with real concerns are the same as racists according to the SNP.
Nice.

arranbubonicplague · 27/11/2018 08:52

So women with real concerns are the same as racists according to the SNP.

Isn't this just another manifestation of invisibilising women? It doesn't matter that such views couldn't be more inimical to us, they refuse to see us as real people in the round with nuanced views that ought to be listened to with care and our concerns addressed..
