Note that the killer, legally Curtis Gordon Dawkins, went equipped, in that they had a sword and three knives with them at the victim's apartment.

Minutes later, officers arrived and spotted Dawkins outside in a parking lot carrying a sword in her right hand and three knives in her left. She complied with the cops’ orders to stop and drop the weapons.

A m2f murderer here in the UK was demanding a wig as part of the 'living in gender role' thing. But was refused - wigs are a big no-no in jail as they can (Will) be used in escapes. He also demanded sanitary protection ... didn't get that either.

So glad you posted this ContraryMary. I too was very disturbed when I read stories about sex-worker-turned-killer Curtis "Moka" Dawkins in the Toronto Sun & Toronto Star, including:

Obvious conclusion from the judge's sentencing decision: in Canada claiming to be a woman is now a valid get-out-of-jail-sooner card for violent males who kill.

By "kill" here I don't mean "literally kill" by using words that are "literal violence" of course. I mean "literally kill" the way Dawkins did it - by brutally stabbing the victim multiple times all over his body in what prosecutors said were two separate attacks with the sword & three knives Dawkins was still holding when police arrived.

Now lest I be accused of the mortal sin of misgendering Dawkins here, the 6th paragraph of the Star story I cited says:

"In an affidavit filed in court, Dawkins, who was tried as a man under her birth name, described the challenges of being locked up in an all-male facility, where she chose to go rather than be forced into segregation in a women’s institution because she has not fully transitioned."

It's infuriating how the press & people involved in the court proceedings all deferentially refer to Dawkins as a woman & she/her when a) Dawkins was tried & convicted of a brutal killing as a man & b) it's a matter of public record that Dawkins has fully intact male genitalia.

Making this gaslighting even more maddening is the fact, as the Toronto Sun & other news sources revealed, Dawkins met the man he killed through Dawkins' advertising sex-for-sale services on ShemaleCanada.com. Isn't the name "Shemale" an admission that Dawkins is a male & knows it?

I am so sick of having to tiptoe on eggshells when discussing the violent criminal behavior of convicts like Dawkins so as not to hurt their tender gender feelz or otherwise cause them & their allies offense. The facts in this & similar cases are the facts; there's nothing "transphobic" about stating them. But still, I'm nervous about posting this - & fear it will be reported & removed because I refused to go along with the fiction.

Yup. It’s marketing yourself as a man for the sexual service of other men.

If transwomen were women they’d be marketing themselves as women, then denouncing disappointed punters as transphobic bigots.

Canada seems a funny old place. Why is that?

I tried to find out whether Curtis "Moka" Dawkins was sent to a male or female prison to serve out the rest of the sentence that got reduced on account of of Dawkins' trans status. Unfortunately, I couldn't find out any info about this.

I did, however, come across stories from 2017 about the first inmate in Canada transferred from a male penitentiary to a female facility on account of being trans. The inmate, Fallon Aubee, given a life sentence in 2003 for first-degree murder in a contract killing case, was the first to benefit from reversal of a "strict, long-standing rule that based prisoner placement on genitalia rather than gender identity and considered transfers only after sex reassignment surgery." Under the new policy, offenders will be treated & placed according to their "self-identified gender or gender expression, regardless of their physical anatomy or the gender noted on their identification documents."

Aubee, who had fully intact male genitals at the time, made this notable comment to CBC when news of the transfer to a women's prison was made public:

"I think it's going to be a huge adjustment going to the prison for women, not just for me but for the women who are there as well because I am pre-op so there's a stigma that's attached to 'there's a guy living here.' I want to be able to defuse that with my character, my attitude, my generosity, so they say, 'Wait a minute, she's just one of the girls.'"

Bet that's exactly what all the other other "girls" in Canadian prisons would say! Or at least all the contract-killer "girls" also serving life for murder would. Because convicted murderers & especially contract killers imprisoned for life are famous for their sterling "character" & ample "generosity" - & most possess an "attitude" so demure, pleasant & obliging that everyone they encounter immediately is put totally at ease.

But Aubee wasn't too concerned about the "huge adjustment" the women would be forced to go through because, after all, the really important factor to Aubee was that Aubee's inner gender essence & identity be validated:

"Despite all the stigma, the discrimination, the harassment, the abuse, the sexual abuse, I believe it was a worthwhile journey because I can stand tall and proud today and say, I'm a woman and I'm going to be recognized as a woman and I'm going to live in a woman's prison."

Final note:

I've written the CBC suggesting it's time to do a follow-up to see how things are working out for Aubee & the women forced to serve time with Aubee. And I of course recommended that they interview some of the female prisoners with whom penis 'n' balls-haver Aubee was sent to live.

Funny thing is, at the time the decision to transfer this male-bodied convicted murderer to a female prison was made public, none of the Canadian press interviewed any of the women in the receiving facility because the media were all too busy hailing the move as a "historic first" & a "human rights triumph."

Also, interviewing the women forced to be in prison with a strapping biological male with all his bits wouldn't be in keeping with the stated priority of Canadian correctional authorities in 2017. As corrections official Laurie Halper explained when news of Aubee's transfer was announced,

"decisions around timing of the transfer, cell assignment and interactions with other inmates will be made to ensure they are appropriate and safe for the transferred inmate."

No mention of ensuring fairness & safety for the "other inmates" who are female. The only concern was for what's appropriate & safe for the transgender inmate being transferred because... gee, I wonder why.
