Here's the story: House of Lords blocks suspension of Lib Dem peer Lord Lester, who was found to have sexually harassed campaigner Jasvinder Sanghera, saying she would get a peerage if she slept with him.

I've just spoken to Jasvinder Sanghera, who is distraught three investigations have been overturned. She says she would now not advise other victims of harassment by peers to make a formal complaint: "I would not want to subject them to what I’ve been through.”

This is a very alarming outcome to the first harassment investigation by the Lords, and for wider efforts to curb such behaviour in parliament. Those who voted to block the suspension included Labour peers Andrew Adonis & Melvyn Bragg and, among Tories, the Duke of Wellington.

Only this morning there was some Baroness given loads of air time on Radio 4's Today programme to have a (not so) veiled go at JS, chuntering on about having to go to the police with accusations and accusations having to be made at the time of the alleged harrassment - absolutely no insight as to why that might not happen.

So basically fuck off if it's an historic accusation, fuck off if you were worried about being believed, fuck off if you were scared of the repercussions, fuck off if you told others about the incidents but not the police.

Male and female, The Establishment protect their own.

This is a fucking disgrace. They're happy enough for their complaints systems to be unfairly run when they're covering things up and silencing victims. When, for once, one of the women gets believed, they say the system is unfair and overturn the finding. It would be funny if it wasn't so depressing. It's a reflection of the sad state of affairs in the courts as well.

I heard that Baroness too. She was appalling. They should be ashamed of themselves.

They have no shame Carefully, it's protect their own at all cost and yes she was appalling this morning... I was doing much swearing at the radio!

Andrew Adonis Melvyn Bragg among others who voted to protect their own!
