Uber's 21 sexual assault categories

I've never been keen on taxi's partly working class upbringing, they seemed frivolous when you could use a bus and/or walk, partly just lack of control being driven somewhere by a stranger made me feel uneasy. So I just didn't get Uber.

I was appalled by the news reports of them ducking any sense of responsibility for actions of their drivers but not surprised.

So I'm encouraged they finally starting to pay this some attention. But also a little cynical. Have they gone for this many sub categories for honest reporting ? Or to ensure the headline numbers will be for the most serious assaults so smaller than overall assault numbers?

Any Uber users here? Thoughts?

(Btw I've been around a while just NC again)

Sorry I forgot to add a link to the article I read which provided more info on the categories and how they'd got there qz.com/1460759/uber-defines-21-categories-of-sexual-misconduct-from-leering-to-rape/
But the headline on the business insider article is better Shock

Jessica Eaton just managed to get the police and SS to stop showing CSA survivors films about child abuse. Its another form of abuse. So how did anyone think this is a good idea?

It's just an indexing tool for their corporate record keeping. They have had a lot of bad publicity and they released their report to try and counteract it.

They haven't said much about what action they will take. Keeping records of sexual assaults does nothing to stop them happening.

FFS! That reads like something a pervert has written for a porn mag.

PositivelyPerf they apparently developed the taxonomy with the help of the US National Sexual Violence Resource Center
