Ricky's USP is to make you laugh at something you don't think is funny. Nothing is sacrosanct.

And he's bloody good at it.

I do wonder about this. That's the third time he has used humour to show up the trans ideology.

Is it because he wants to make you laugh at the untouchable, or is it a political point?

Check out he comments! He's arguing with everyone that is defending the attackers!

Datun · 10/11/2018 18:22

Those comments are weird

Mumfun · 10/11/2018 18:23

One comment: if a woman has bollocks you can kick them Grin

PositiveVibez · 10/11/2018 18:25

But transwoman using thuggery and violence against someone would NEVER happen.

Probably a bit of both, but in this particular case, I feel it's very much more of a political point. The absurdity of the reporting on this case originally should have been the WTF moment for everyone.

The really depressing thing about that twitter thread is the number of people who haven't picked up that the "women" he refers to are male-bodied, and just reply to say yes, yep, it's ok to hit a woman who attacks you Sad. I'm not sure he's really got the point across in a helpful way.

Tanith · 10/11/2018 18:53

I think it's that he wants to make you laugh at the untouchable - political points and all! Grin

I grew up on the same estate as RG. That "nothing is sacrosanct" attitude was typical there and it didn't cause offence (it'd be all the funnier if it did).

And, as Datun says, RG is very good at what he does!

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 19:14

Comedians get it because they are attuned to absurdity.

Dramatists don’t because they are all about the drama - and trans being on the drama in buckets.

That’s why Gervaise and Linehan get it and Tony Marchant and Jimmy McGovern don’t.

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 19:16

Bring on the drama, that should be.

Bowlofbabelfish · 10/11/2018 19:59

Bollockettes maybe?

And again in the comments with the mixer and suicide rates. Someone needs to point out the real data every time.

Bowlofbabelfish · 10/11/2018 19:59

Murder. Not mixer.

I have no data on use of tonic water.

BeyondVicious · 10/11/2018 20:02

Tonic water is probably transphobic in some way, shape or form, bowl...

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 20:43

G&T is all about the T these days.

BeyondVicious · 10/11/2018 20:45

“LGBT” missed out on a trick there Grin

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 20:48

I think the Q stands for ‘quinine’.

I have trouble keeping up with the alphabetti spaghetti.

He’s bulletproof.

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 21:03

He’s like the e Cage of comedy.

AspieAndProud · 10/11/2018 21:03

Luke Cage.
