Thanks for that. I'm going to have a go.

Very neat - I'm ashamed to say that any attempts by me would resemble a toddler let loose with safety scissors and some frayed fabric.

I wish I did but altho' I cook/bake well and am competent at DIY, I can not sew to save my life.

OH no! I have not only watched the one for the cockade, also for the magnificent autumn fairy leaf cape, the winter witch hat......
All absolutely beautifully presented, gentle, relaxing little sewing breaks, the best YouTube I have seen since the Posie Parker Rant.
I am getting my sewing box out and perusing the contents.....might just have to venture into town for ribbon and buttons.

She's wonderful isn't she? Her voice is so relaxing!

I love to sew but on a machine. I'm awful at hand stitching Blush

That's lovely - thank you! I see she also has a video for adding pockets to skirts and dresses.

Yes! How handy is that!?

Unfortunately my body type wouldn't support the lovely Victorian and Edwardian styles she makes but she's a joy to watch, nevertheless.

The british ones "Womens Social and Political Union" were purple, white, and green instead of gold.

Mrs. Pethick-Lawrence, co-editor of the weekly newspaper Votes for Women, wrote in 1908:

Purple as everyone knows is the royal colour. It stands for the royal blood that flows in the veins of every suffragette, the instinct of freedom and dignity…white stands for purity in private and public life…green is the colour of hope and the emblem of spring.

Oh yes, I wouldn't have made it with the American colours :)
