Eugenics rides again under the guise of the transgender foster child bill. The law assures that trans-identified foster children will have the legal right and full support of the state to go as far down the path of medical and surgical transition as each vulnerable child chooses. It is the removal of protection from sexually confused minors couched in a deep parlance of ideology, not science. The proposed therapies enrich hospitals, drug companies, tech firms, and medical personnel at the expense of misled children.

Prawn any meaningful study needs to involve long term follow up. I think we'll be seeing the court cases before we see the results of a respectable study.

lused, I think it does. I can't think of any reason why people do this apart from the age old, sex, money and power.

Sorry, Iused2BanOptimist, I should have said that you wouldn't expect results after two years. I was just interested to hear that the study had been started, given that research has been so much targeted and discouraged by TRAs.

I hadn't heard about the study before. I assume that better informed posters knew all about it.

Prawn I knew you would know. I meant to just clarify that probably the fall out and law cases will come before we can expect results from a large scale longitudinal study. (Not sure how many participants/length of time this study is going to involve - did I miss that?). In any case, as these children will have been set upon the path of lifelong medicalisation they should ALL be followed up. Within the NHS it ought to be reasonably straightforward to do a retrospective study. But the results will be too late to protect the current crop of teens.

It's framing to be as bad - or even worse - than the terrible crime that was the Tuskegee syphilis experiment.

Medical scandals are a bit of a specialist subject of mine. It used to be an area I wrote about professionally.

The child satanic abuse scandal was another one. It became accepted that there were cults all over the UK and America who were ritually abusing kids, even murdering babies.

Despite no one finding any of these cults, which were supposed to be functioning under our noses everywhere, quite a number of children were removed from their totally innocent parents.
