It is utterly TERRIFYING that the government designed this system and they very clearly do not give a flying fuck about what will happen to millions of women and children who are low paid / unemployed / disabled / fleeing violence, under their new policy of Universal Credits.
They simply just do not care. They refuse to release the impact assessments, although they have admitted that 3.2 million will lose an average of £2400 a year whether in work or not.
Some will lose more, especially those paid by their employers 4 weekly or weekly due to a glitch they are not fixing.
Those fleeing Domestic Violence have to PROVE they were abused in order to get any help, and only one period of help a year is allowed. Payments are made to only one member of a couple, split payments are discouraged and can only be granted temporarily and obviously have to be asked for, which they know is not simple for victims of financial abuse.
It is utterly unbelievable that they are continuing with Universal Credit. It has me in utter disbelief and terror for what is going to happen when this is rolled out more next year. Currently only about 15% rolled out across the country. 85% waiting to experience such mess and hardship.
