I love this.

I was lucky enough to grow up through times where the chains and perception of gender appeared to be reducing.

Many in this current climate now seem to need the shackles to be tightened for the majority of the population to enable a few - and for reasons that I suspect are hugely different between younger people and older adult males.

I loved it because it underpins exactly what concerns me about the debate right now.

People are continuously mixing up gender with sex. Sex is the thing we can't change, just like eye colour.

Gender is the thing that is the expectations placed on us by society at any point in time, due to the sex we are. It's a whole bundle of behaviours, clothing, mannerisms.

Gender doesn't have to exist.

But right now there are many voices telling us that it's definitely a 'thing'. Those voices need it to exist.

To the extent that, if you remind them that it's a social construct that noone needs to adhere to, many will try to give you a label of 'agender' or 'cis'. It's a really pressing need for some of them to make gender compulsory and 'biological'.

That's why I loved this film.
