American horror story -are the writers terfs?

Tongue in cheek disclaimer first. (And I know there’s plenty of misogyny and gratuitous violence within the series).

Anyone watching the current series? The warlock claiming that it’s time for warlocks (men) to rise up and over throw the dominant class of women is seriously funny to watch. I have zero idea where this series is going, but I half wonder if the warlocks are meant as parodies of TRA’s because right now that’s what it feels like to me. (Plus the Sarah Paulson is clearly the stand out star of the series and fan favourite so imho I don’t think the writers would want to see her side crushed by upity warlocks with weird Sabrina the teenage witch crossed with interview with the vampire style).

I doubt they are ‘terfs’. American Horror Story Hotel has a very sympathetic trans character called Liz Taylor.

Like I said tongue in cheek, but maybe that doesn’t translate so well here.

What I meant was the warlocks in the current series feel like a parody of TRA’s, whether intensional or not, and it will be interesting to see it play out.

I think last year’s political satire with the blue haired misogynist was probably a better analogy.

There’s something definitely Purge-like about TRAs.

Paulson (who is excellent) plays at least two characters this series so her fans might be a bit unsure which to support.

I’m a fan of the show but Freak Show towers above the rest. It’s the only one where I really cared about the characters. I was dreading it as I thought it might be exploitative but it was strangely beautiful.

I'm watching the current show. I don't think it's a tra analogy but definitely an interesting analysis of when men as a group want to take something that has traditionally done as female.
I liked Liz Taylor as a character and I thought they were played well. Sympathetic but also not let off the hook for everything they did wrong like effectively abandoning their son as well as not pretending that putting on a dress and make up suddenly took all the problems away. It felt well rounded.
There was also a trans actor in the cult/election season. I can't remember the name but the beardy trump supporter who has his arm cut off is a trans man.
