Olympics?

So... will the olympics of the future just be transwomen competing against each other? The Rachael McKinnon win seems to open the gates for it. It seems so counter intuitive that women's sport would just be allowed to be taken over, but, the way things are going I can actually imagine it happening

If nothing else answer Question 12 on the consultation. There is no evidence at all that Penny Mordaunt has made any effort at all to inform sports clubs that she is consulting on the future of womens' sport.

Her arrogance is beyond belief.

It's taken a very long time for the coaching of girls and women to become reasonable and begin to work with their physiological and anatomical differences.

All of this nascent research and knowledge will be abandoned if you're essentially coaching and training male anatomy and physiology. There won't be sports science or other research to support the training of women and girls.

And, if you're from a country that does retain natal-female athletes, as PP states, you'll fail to qualify as the benchmarks will be beyond the reach of your athletes and sports competitors.

With the USA having effectively destroyed Title IX by mere dint of making sex = gender, women in sport have been set back decades

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Public Law No. 92‑318, 86 Stat. 235 (June 23, 1972)

Though I do accept that the Trump administration has done significant harm to the USAs protection of transgendered individuals too!

This is all just depressing the crap out of me. There are extremely talented young female athletes in my family and they're going to be crushed by this. HOW the athletic and sporting governing bodies are permitting this shit storm is beyond me.

I suppose we'll go the same way that bodybuilding did. They couldn't keep steroids out of their sport, so the people who wanted to compete with integrity split off and started their own new sport, 'natural bodybuilding.'

We'll just have to start over, from zero, with no scholarships, no coaches, no funding, no organisations, no facilities, nothing.

I'm so sick over this. Over all of it, but I wasn't expecting yet another big blow this week.

I can imagine future all female events going underground, like raves used to be, with events staged in remote fields and warehouses, and lookouts keeping watch for the gender police.

You’ll only ever hear about it from a friend of a friend and the media will report on such horrific sport crimes in the tone they normally reserve for dog fighting and bear baiting.
