Ffs! I thought I'd peaked a full year ago but apparently not.

How many of the wokes making these decisions would be happy to know their 13 year old daughters/sisters/nieces were sharing changing rooms with adult men. Or being supervised in showers and tents at Brownie and Girlguides' camping trips by them?

Charliethefeminist · 11/10/2018 00:54

Nice one Posie. Point made AND you got your money back.

theOtherPamAyres · 11/10/2018 01:11

The Twitter account of Exterion Media, is so hypocritical

Lots of back slapping about the "campaigns" that it has been running - including one for Breast Cancer featuring ....er.... how would you describe them without offending the public? ...oh, it's so difficult to think of a noun ... er... let's try..... adult human females?

The world's truly gone mad.

LemonJello · 11/10/2018 07:27

Does anyone have a share token?

OVAgroundWOMBlingfree · 11/10/2018 07:40

Offensive to the public?

If we are that offensive how a general strike by all women?

averylongtimeago · 11/10/2018 07:44

If you look at that poster for breast cancer, they have used the word "woman".
Surely it should be banned?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/10/2018 07:45

This piece may be missed by quite a lot of people because it's in the Scotland section. It's a pity Janice Turner's comment piece couldn't link to it (article plus her comment on the womxn fiasco, I put links to those on the Newsnight thread if anyone wants to c&p them from there).

Brilliant tactics, Posie. Another story in the MSM at no actual cost. Hopefully Twitter will pick up on it too

AbsintheFriends · 11/10/2018 07:48

Posie is playing this so well.

She tries to speak, gets silenced, but the word still gets out there.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/10/2018 07:48

It might offend (some) trans people but I suspect more of 'the general public' would be annoyed or baffled by its being removed than 'offended'.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/10/2018 07:49

Sorry, not 'removed', in this instance banned.

Needmoresleep · 11/10/2018 08:01

Some good comments on the Times article. They seem to be getting braver in what they let through.

SturdyEarmuffs · 11/10/2018 08:03

Some advertising campaigns featured on exertion media website using women's bodies to sell products yet they deem the dictionary definition of woman offensive?

Fucking disgusting. Yet Edinburgh buses had 'my dad wrote a porno' and a jaunty pic to advertise a movie of same name.

Thanks LRT for bringing the word porno into our six year old vocabulary. But yeah good shout, woman is pretty bad isn't it.

MIdgebabe · 11/10/2018 08:10

Am I allowed to be offended and upset. by twaw then? May we insist that the term is removed from the press?

What about the definition of man would that also be removed?

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 11/10/2018 08:15

I can confirm that Edinburgh is like a more repressive religious state. You never see women in daylight in case we offend the "general public" by merely existing. Certainly we would never be allowed on buses unless hidden in a box.

Oh, hang on...

Anyone remember "there's probably no God" adverts? They offend a number of religious people but were not removed. But this upsets men, so we have an issue.

LemonJello · 11/10/2018 08:15

Thanks for the share token 🙏

FekkoTheLawyer · 11/10/2018 08:16

Who exactly will it offend? WHO exactly are they? Transsexuals - I doubt it - they know what they have had to do themselves to get as close to their desired sex as possible (and its not a bloody blood pill, Big Thoughts and a magic wand).

No - it's the Male bodied persons - who will most likely be in another bandwagon next year - who want to dress up like Abba/Barbie/pole dancer and shout in the faces of women. And the cheerleaders who go along for laughs.

Edinburgh - hang your head! The lot of you!

TimeLady · 11/10/2018 08:19

I wonder what would happen if she tried to place an advert saying

'Man = Adult human male'

Would that be deemed offensive too? .

leeloo1 · 11/10/2018 08:21

Quote from the times... “Companies should not be forced to advertise campaign groups that many of their customers find offensive and intimidating.”

How would (m)any customers find the definition of a woman offensive or intimidating? Would they have been unaware of what a woman was if not for a poster on a bus?

Maybe we could fashion a new poster that wouldn't offend TRAs?

Woman (girls) = lots of make-up, swishy hair, high heels, frilly clothes... And sooo much girlie fun! Come and join us for a sleepover!"

(just to be clear, I'd not meet any of that definition of 'woman')

LemonJello · 11/10/2018 09:20

I find this really sinister:

Hannah Pearson, of the Equality Network, backed the decision to ban the signs from buses and argued it was the “vehement anti-trans” campaign behind them, rather then the definition of women itself, which caused offence.

That is the campaign Hannah. The right to retain the dictionary definition of ‘woman’ and not to have it include men. If you think that’s anti-trans then I think you are anti-woman.

LangCleg · 11/10/2018 09:45

I'm looking forward to the results of Helen Staniland's polling. Posie will be able to quote them every time an ad is refused on these specious grounds.

Cause offence to the public my arse.

happydappy2 · 11/10/2018 09:49

Well done Poise-Its insane that the posters were removed but great to spread awareness of the crap thats happening. You can tell from the comments that 99% of people are behind her.
