There have been a number of threads about great articles by James Kirkup and it can be really helpful for those reading to know which is which.

It's good. Some pathetic comments underneath from the usual suspect-type blokes blaming feminists for it all, however - the 'you've brought it on yourselves by being pushy and not wanting to be assaulted!' notion.

Since this piece was written, the Wellcome Collection has changed its mind and issued this admirably honest and reasonable statement:

‘We invite challenges to our thinking and we listen to our audience, which is why we’ve taken the decision to remove the word womxn from our website and communications about the Daylighting event. We’re sorry that we made the wrong call.’

Someone there is listening to women, it seems. It can only be hoped that others do the same.
