There was a thread about this earlier in the year when the case was first publicised.
I had wondered what had happened to it as orignially it had August as date for trial starting.

The thread is worth reading (skip through the derails) as there is a really serious description of circumstance in homeless services (also in USA) surrounding a vulnerable woman's murder.

Also its important to raise the issue of homeless shelters (like this one). They aren't refuge services which are more often talked about.

Most single-homeless services and hostels disproportionately support males. The single women are vunerable.

Hostels will often have separate floors, wings and shower facilities for women but be mixed in the UK.

There was a comment on FP4W that a woman who was street homeless had said how worried she was about self-id, had no prior knowledge of it and also it would be difficult for her to complete the consultation.

Installing shower curtains, genius! That'll definitely fix the problem.

(Also, it took actual assaults to install some privacy?!)

There's another potentially significant one in the USA based around children's rights to dignity, privacy and safety in same sex facilities.

I think its detailed on that thread as was needing to be escalated up to higher court for definition of sex.
