Communists, trade unionists, Jews, rapists.

Spot the odd one out!

These people are insane.

Wow, so that's not a parody account?

Under MN FWR guidelines, we'd get a strike for conflating rapists and trans...

Pywife2 · 04/10/2018 05:41

I wondered why one of my tweets was suddenly getting likes after so long! On reflection I wish I'd never joined this conversation, which must have been a wind up by some sexist idiot who doesn't have the human empathy not to make a joke about rape. They must be a misogynist bastard to find it humorous but I don't think it has any bearing on the debate about trans rights because no rational person can hold these beliefs.

It's increasingly hard to distinguish between real news and parody, genuine (but stupid) people and trolls.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/10/2018 06:53

"Trolling or just stupid?" was standard 10 years ago, but both the trolling and the stupid seem to have gotten worse over time.

invisibleoldwoman · 04/10/2018 07:09

I saw a tweet about this which went something along the lines of " 'first they came for the rapists' - if only they would"

AngryAttackKittens · 04/10/2018 07:13

When did they ever come for the bloody rapists? I'd like to live in a world where they do.

WomanLifeIsGoodish · 04/10/2018 07:23

Not enough coffee in the world to make head or tail of that Twitter thread.... just too darn early.

Are they outraged because MNHQ allow us to correctly sex convicted rapists?

MipMipMip · 04/10/2018 07:30

I saw someone somewhere saying transwomen can't commit rape as rape is about power and women are more privileged than transwomen. So it wasn't rape, it was unconsenting sex.

Not a troll.

AngryAttackKittens · 04/10/2018 07:37

I've seen that twice, once in the comments of a news article about a trans rapist and once on Tumblr, where they literally said "I'm sorry that happened, but you weren't raped".

When someone shows you who they are, believe them ffs. People who say things like that are terrible human beings.

CAAKE · 04/10/2018 07:44

There are a few good replies under that crazy thread -

As long as men are physically larger stronger and more likely to be predators than women, “misgendering” is here to stay.

AbsintheFriends · 04/10/2018 07:49

I wish that the wider public got to see this shit. The people sitting on buses in Scotland and being confronted with the 'Dear Transphobes' posters, shoving their instinctive concerns down deeper, thinking they're unreasonable. I wish they knew what the pushers of this agenda actually believe and say.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/10/2018 08:23

The cognitive dissonance is actually painful! ‘Misgendering’ is a worse crime than rape

'Allison' didn't actually think that ... I noted upthread that somewhere in the twitter thread, Allison's 'solution' to the problem of allowing TW rapists into women's jails (well, I think actually any rapist into any jail, Allison is consistent in all things) was to kill the rapists. Okaaay.

This reminds me of debating creationism with the sort of person who was so fixated on the literal truth of genesis that they'd cheerfully come up with any manner of morally reprehensible (as well as scientifically bollocks, obv) answers.
