Keeping the word woman off pro choice posters??

So I joined a pro choice group who are counter protesting a pro life group outside of a local abortion clinic.

There's a post about making signs and a request to 'keep the word woman off the signs as people of all identities use the service and need our support so we are trying to be more gender neutral '

I challenged it asking why the word woman needs to be kept of signs relating to a woman's body and choice in pregnancy.

No reply yet.

Am wondering if I should withdraw my offer of the shift I've signed up for as I'm just not comfortable with that.
Also their organisation name has a female descriptor in so are they planning on changing that to a gender neutral one Hmm

Also I was wondering if anyone in Manchester would like to join me peacefully protesting the prolife group outside of the organisation.

It's something I feel strongly about.

No, don't back out. Go and talk about the issue with others there. You're strangers to each other, presumably, linked by being pro-choice. You can literally just walk away at any time if it gets uncomfortable but you can treat this as an opportunity to find other GC allies — and what's more, the kind of people who are prepared to turn out and protest, which I suspect we're going to have to do a lot of if we're to make an impact.

By all means add the other identities if needed. But ask them why the removal of woman? Surely it should not offend a trans man or non binary uterus bearer to be listed with the word woman? Point out they are excluding those without a gender identity and most people over 30 if they don't use the word woman.
