No one helped, so I did it myself.
Thanks for any feedback.

I have tears in my eyes. Love the music and the sense of urgency it portrays. Women are speaking up and it’s wonderful to hear your voice.

ChickenonaMug · 17/09/2018 16:44

That really is a great film. Well done for what you have achieved all by yourself. Most of the women on this board are very busy at the moment fighting to prevent the rights that we thought we had won being rolled back. Many of us now realise how fragile our rights actually are. So please do keep fighting.

Movablefeast · 17/09/2018 17:08

Congratulations on a powerful film. As a woman with teenage daughters I am so proud of younger woman who are speaking up with conviction and know that they have a right to be heard. You are so right that although young women are told their rights have already been won they do not have true freedom and equality. A simple but shocking shot says it all, with the baby onesies which are clearly gendered and the dark blue with primary colors says something like “Future Boss” while the baby pink says “Sweet Girl”!!!! In the 21st century!! From the beginning we clearly believe in a hierarchy if we buy these things.

Noqont · 17/09/2018 17:18

That's excellent.

littlbrowndog · 17/09/2018 17:31

It’s the only choice
Love the film svea

FeminaSum · 17/09/2018 17:32

I remember your first thread. I'm really glad that you decided to take out the 'gender' and 'cis' references as you were advised to. I couldn't have supported that, but the version you actually used is excellent.

It's a really powerful video with a strong message. Well done!

Lefthanddown · 17/09/2018 17:35

Well done, loved the words and imagery.

jeaux90 · 17/09/2018 18:02

I loved it and shared it on twitter.

Starkstaring · 17/09/2018 18:29

Great film - thanks for making it!

BesmirchingMotherhood · 17/09/2018 18:32

Wow 😮

Beesandfrogsandfleas · 17/09/2018 18:47

I don't know the back story.
Really liked your film well done.

Datun · 17/09/2018 18:47

Wow, that is a great film.

I might be mixing you up with someone else, but I think you got some backlash over the transgender issue?

When women ask feminists on here why they have this single issue in mind, I think a lot of us acknowledge that some other issues are temporarily having to go on the back burner.

But that's because this issue is urgent, due to the laws in our country being on the precipice of change.

Your video is fantastic. There is nothing of the back burner about the issues you're talking of.

Just because women here, at the moment, are preoccupied with this one issue does not mean, ever, that they do not see the bigger picture. You speak of women and girls, our worry is that this category will simply disappear. And be replaced with 'feminine people'.

Your video is brilliant, your message is hard-core feminism.

What a wonderful job. Thank you.

Helmetbymidnight · 17/09/2018 18:50

Powerful, exciting, urgent.

You’ve done a really good job.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 17/09/2018 18:50

that was great, you are very talented

oldbirdy · 17/09/2018 18:56

How do we get the subtitles? I found your speech rather fast and lost track of what you were saying from time to time. I think having subtitles on automatically might help your reach?

ItsLikeNew · 17/09/2018 19:05

That was brilliant svea Well done.

I didn't see your previous thread(not that I would have been of any use), But I'm sorry if you felt alone.

The film is so well put together, they way you have done it, what you have to say.

You are a strong woman, and Thank you for putting yourself out there to help the fight for other women.

Then only thing is, I twice I thought the film had ended, if I was to share it on Facebook I could imagine most people would click off the link at the first pause. possible make the pauses shorter?

KataraJean · 17/09/2018 19:31

I do not know the back story either, but I think it is good. I agree about the pauses, they work but need something to show the film is not over. But overall, it is excellent.

RaininSummer · 17/09/2018 19:44

That is pretty cool and clever. Well done.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on your posts... but I am SO incredibly happy to see that you like my film!! After the weak responses when I initially proposed my idea I was scared whether the film itself would lead to the same results. I'm happy to say that I was wrong!

Svea well done!

You may remember me, I did try my best to help on your first thread, not with the offer to be in your film (!) but as best I could by taking time to talk about gender vs sex and 'cis' and why it is at odds with many feminists' beliefs.

I'm really glad you edited your poem. I think it is so much more powerful for it.

You should be very proud of yourself. I'm glad you made your film. Smile
