Only millions died in the gulag & women were often forced to prostitute themselves.
Those who made it to their release date found that the stigma of having been in the gulag affected their families for generations.

And any trans people would have been locked up for life in the psychiatric institutions; that's how compassionate the Soviets were!!

The Soviets rejected biology in favour of ideology. They believed one organism could transform into another. Scientists who disagreed were blacklisted or imprisoned.

In these more enlightened days, of course, nothing like that ever could happen.

The Telegraph still haven’t quite got it. This isn’t really about the small number who do have genital surgery to transition. This is about men just being able to declare themselves a woman.

Goldsmiths Students’ Union has now suspended the (LGBTQ) group and withdrawn its support for its activities, saying the Gulag threat - and subsequent refusal by the group to apologise for it - clearly breached the students' union code of conduct.

In a statement backed by Goldsmiths University the students’ union said: “We condemn the abhorrent content of the tweets and they are in complete opposition to the views and values of the Students’ Union.”

I very much doubt that would've happened a year ago.

Excellent. Maybe Goldsmiths can begin to retrieve its reputation as a place of education in the absence of repressive censorship and bigotry.

This is the problem and the blessing with giving the sods what they want initially. They get so cocky they think they can push the envelope. At first no one minds, because who cares about some gobby women. So they carry on, and start trying to rehabilitate the idea of re-education in gulags and everyone starts waking up from the stupor of ignorant bliss and says "Hold on one fucking big minute, what the hell is going on here?"
