BBC article: 'Transgender inmate admits Wakefield jail sex offences'
"A transgender prisoner has admitted sexually assaulting inmates at a women's jail.

Karen White, 51, who was born male but now identifies as a woman, has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual touching at New Hall Prison, Wakefield.

The offences took place between September and November last year. She has since been moved to a male prison.

Details emerged when White appeared at Leeds Crown Court to admit to a rape committed before she was jailed.

She previously admitted two further rape charges, which also happened outside prison.

White will be sentenced for all offences on 11 October."

Surely there will now be a serious review about the 'individual risk assessment' used by prison service? It demonstrably has both contraints and failings which have put vulnerable women at risk.

I take it 'Karen' is not really trans. Or those victimized inmates provoked it by being hateful TERFs.
Can't think of another explanation.

Alicethroughtheblackmirror · 06/09/2018 16:38

But, but... This Never Happens!

Poppyred85 · 06/09/2018 16:40

And yet thy still refer to White as her Angry

MonotonousSeagull · 06/09/2018 16:41

Those poor women.

So predictable.

Wanderabout · 06/09/2018 16:42

White will be sentenced for all offences on 11 October."

Which estate will White be in? Where is White now?

SturdyEarmuffs · 06/09/2018 16:43

I think this is the case that James Kirkup was referring to in a recent article, when he mentioned that prison officials & government would have to face some difficult questions.

That individual should never have been placed in a women's prison.

heresyandwitchcraft · 06/09/2018 16:44

No true trans woman! Or we will get some kind of "but Rose West" defense.....

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 06/09/2018 16:47

They do a risk assessment whilst deciding whether to put a biological male rapist in a women’s prison?!
And this yoke passed??

Smellyoulateralligator · 06/09/2018 16:51

Wanderabout- he’s in a male prison. It says up there 👆:)

GenderApostate · 06/09/2018 16:52

There sure are an awful lot of ‘never happens’ events happening, aren’t there? 🙄
It’s only vulnerable Women in prison after all, who cares if 60% of them have some form of traumatic brain injury? Bitches probably deserved it, right?

Ereshkigal · 06/09/2018 16:53

The offences took place between September and November last year. She has since been moved to a male prison.

Good. As should be. But the cognitive dissonance of writing this statement while calling Jones "she"... Confused

TheRollingCrone · 06/09/2018 16:55

😐 < My surprised face.

YeTalkShiteHen · 06/09/2018 16:55

They do a risk assessment whilst deciding whether to put a biological male rapist in a women’s prison?!

How that even becomes a valid sentence in any reasonable setting is utterly beyond me.

Those women were jailed and then had a convicted rapist with a penis put in alongside them. What the pluperfect fuck did they expect to happen?

YeTalkShiteHen · 06/09/2018 16:56

They being the people in a position to prevent this and who had a duty of care to the women in the prison,

Knicknackpaddyflak · 06/09/2018 17:02

I can't find the thread where it was mentioned, but the European baths where the women's area had been opened to gender neutral for a day every so often, and had been invaded by non trans men having a nice time intimidating, commandeering and ogling naked women. The women who complained and left were told this is what men did, there was nothing they could do and they basically needed to accept this as the price of inclusion.

I want MPs and every other establishment group to say this. Clearly. This policy involves women being collateral damage. This policy involves all women accepting that a proportion of them will be assaulted, harassed, abused, raped and quite possibly killed, in order to meet the wants of a tiny statistical proportion of men. Not needs, not rights, but wants. Have the guts to stand up and say it. Write it in black and white, look women in the face and justify it you utter cowards.

StroppyWoman · 06/09/2018 17:03

A rapist.
An ACTUAL rapist.
A rapist claims to be a woman and gets access to more women to assault.
And the prison service facilitated this.
It's horrifying.

BreakWindandFire · 06/09/2018 17:05

Wonder if those TRAs who claimed on twitter when this broke that it was just vengeful terfs making stuff up will say anything now...

Knicknackpaddyflak · 06/09/2018 17:06

I seriously wonder if the time is now to accept that nicely asking the (mostly male) MPs, leaders and establishment, to please very kindly think about protecting us in their grand plans, and to instead look at how to support as many women as possible in dealing better and more effectively with male abusers.

As someone said on a thread the other day: we are going to have to reconstruct women's services for ourselves, again, just like we did before.

Knicknackpaddyflak · 06/09/2018 17:11

I seriously wonder if the time is now to accept that nicely asking the (mostly male) MPs, leaders and establishment, to please very kindly think about protecting us in their grand plans is a dead duck

Sorry. Small people don't assist with grammar.

Wanderabout · 06/09/2018 17:12

Thanks Smelly

KatVonSweet · 06/09/2018 17:14

How dare they do this. I hope the women that were attacked sue the prison service.

BitOutOfPractice · 06/09/2018 17:14

It's just...well..I just don't know what to call it. Fucking ludicrous!

Whoever mentioned the cognitive dissonance of the situation had it right.

Gileswithachainsaw · 06/09/2018 17:18

God did they get their qualifications off the back of the cornflakes box or something?

Of course this is what would happen

When these things "never happen"

UnderHerEye · 06/09/2018 17:21

If anyone on here isn’t blocked by LM (Labour womens officer LM) will they ask LM to publicly apologise for saying that the victims made this up.

I am wondering what the sentence will be for this- hopefully proportional to the abhorrent nature of the crime.
