"A transgender prisoner has admitted sexually assaulting inmates at a women's jail.

Karen White, 51, who was born male but now identifies as a woman, has pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual touching at New Hall Prison, Wakefield.

The offences took place between September and November last year. She has since been moved to a male prison.

Details emerged when White appeared at Leeds Crown Court to admit to a rape committed before she was jailed.

She previously admitted two further rape charges, which also happened outside prison.

White will be sentenced for all offences on 11 October."

So this man was accused of repeated rape and been previously convicted of a sexual offence against a child.

So he is put on remand and goes straight into a women's prison. And the Transgender Assessment Board stage did not take place for him because he was put directly into a women's prison?

Is that right?

Interesting to see he used different names...this is very common when these men are trying to hide and deceive to cover up their crimes. Should never have been put anyone near women. No respect

A whole other shit show. Trans people can apply in their new name, and the system (which is overloaded to buckling point I hear, they are already skimping on standard checks) relies on said trans person ringing the helpline and being honest.

Regarding Lily Madigan: Not sure when this prisoner admission story broke. However today there was a Twitter Convo, where somebody (a woman obviously) complains about Lily Madigan:

'Biologically, a woman does not have a penis. Yet many say transwomen are women. Tell Lily Madigan that. She hasn't said or done one thing to defend straight or gay women's rights. Not one.'

The long and the short of it is that women have been assaulted by a person with a penis. This person should never have been locked up with women.

And we have nothing to fear from the proposed legislation, because it will still allow for risk assessments...when even the fecking prison service was unable to conduct an appropriate risk assessment here, because of the starting point of self-ID being upheld

There's honestly no point trying to make sense of those tweets or look for any kind of logic in them. There isn't any. Many of the well known TRAs have issues with reality and for them reality is created by emotion in the moment, not facts or logic. So two totally conflicting statements or factually incorrect statements are fine, because they serve the emotion. The question is, whether people who function in this way should be operating in public facing roles where facts, reality, responsibility, the rights of people you don't personally care about and other uncool stuff like that actually has to matter. As the Green Party is currently realising.
