So I picked up on Twitter this story about men getting stroppy about the first panel for a new BBC politics show featuring six women and no men www.the-pool.com/news-views/latest-news/2018/36/BBC-politics-live-all-female-panel

It made me think about what other things are so 'normal' the other way around yet are rarely or never seen even in 2018. For example, is there a a children's animated TV show that features a group of characters where females outnumber males? As far as I know small boys are still considered to be unable to be watch a show where a team of 3 female characters and 2 males have adventures because god forbid the natural order of things is disrupted.

Radio.

Imagine the furore if all the DJs were women and men were consigned to reading out traffic reports or the ghost-hour programmes.

All female line up of dragons in the den.

The Today programme - it's so much better when it's presented by Mishal Husain and Martha Kearney

I had a rare foray into the Guardian today and saw an article about this. One man was bemoaning the all-female lineup and said it would be like Loose Women. As if a panel of two politicians and three journalists is anything like Loose Women, because all women are good for is gossiping, obviously.
Funny how men get so upset about equality when they think it they who are under represented.
All female presenters and guests on Match of the Day, I’d like to see that.

I'd like to see how men would react to all female or female majority in all TV shows and films for a period of ooh about 100 years. Then maybe after that we could have a roughly even mix of the sexes on screen.

Incredibles 2 spoiler...
there’s a brief bit near the end where female sidekick superhero helps main female superhero catch the female villain and I had a moment of ‘wow that’s so cool it’s... well it’s basically what men see ALL THE TIME.’ Sigh. (but I still appreciated it and it’s a great film!)

A switch with an overwhelmingly female Parliament and political groupings ;)

Conventionally unattractive women, either presenting on their own or with conventionally attractive, younger men. Especially on sports shows, where the women (even when they really know their stuff) are still poured into tiny dresses and have to be both eye candy and presenters

PositivelyPERF · 04/09/2018 21:17

Women voice overs extolling the virtues of a household cleaner, while a man acts all delighted at his new cleaning product.

KizzyWayfarer · 04/09/2018 21:19

Yes, older female presenter paired with attractive younger man.
