Great documentary with Maxine Peake and the women of Hull, based on Peake's play about Lillian Bilocca and her headscarf revolutionaries, fighting for safer conditions for trawlermen.

It's only half an hour long but it gets it all in and the sequences of conversations between women in Hull today are brilliant.

I saw the documentary about Hull's Headscarf Heroes that was on before this one - very interesting and impressive.

I must look that one up. I loved this little doco because it has women talking together about it. It was really moving.

The Headscarf Heroes is still available on iPlayer. I've watched it before but I noticed it again earlier. It was a very good programme and showed how indefatigable these women were.
