Hatchet and Hayton disagreement

Harrop apologises for falling for fake Brighton spitting account. Debbie engages with him on Twitter saying at least he seems to have learnt his lesson. Jean and others take exception to this saying Debbie's shown where her true loyalties lie and questions whether she should be a WPUK speaker. Harsh on Debbie? People have often described her as an old school transsexual and she's probably old school in attitude too. She's obviously not the type to swear at someone and seems willing to engage with people from all sides. Should people take Jean's look at these two 'men' cosying up! take on things or is speaking to Harrop (whether poorly judged or not) just the actions of someone with a different way of dealing with people?

He is a disgusting misogynistic bully so imo Debbie Haytom should not have engaged with him. There is something deeply unsettling and sinister about him.

SpareRibFem · 24/07/2018 02:26

I wondered why Debbie felt it was their place to forgive him, I thought that came across as arrogant especially when Harrop does not listen to women but would listen to Debbie, because for all the TWAW mantra people like Harrop treat TW as special and are not as horrible to TW (even those they disagree with). I very much agreed with Jeans assessment that she does seem to 'Withdraw' from any twitter discussion with feminists she doesn't want to have, I'd noticed that before

UglyCathKidstonBag · 24/07/2018 03:15

Didn’t Harrop say that he was glad someone had learnt their lesson - when they were doxxed and threatened with violence. Is it a play on that that has possibly been misinterpreted?

No siding here, I’m just musing.

Do you have a link to this fallout?

boatyardblues · 24/07/2018 06:32

Missing the point of this thread, but Hatchet and Hayton woukd make an excellent title for a cop show. I suspect its the echoes of Cagney & Lacey that are doing it for me.

Harrop’s behaviour on Twitter has been utterly foul. One would be hard placed to find any redeeming aspect.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 24/07/2018 06:34

I suspect Debbie was just saying 'I hope you learnt your lesson' as a dig at his 'I hope you have learnt your lesson' to Olivia.

PyeWackets · 24/07/2018 06:50

I thought the same with the lesson learnt.

I also see that men who become women are treated better by males than the average old fashioned woman.

Floisme · 24/07/2018 07:40

My view is that, if you're scared of disagreements, don't get into feminism.

PencilsInSpace · 24/07/2018 07:51

What do you think OP?

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 08:36

Debbie takes an ameliorative path with everyone and is primarily concerned with extremist transactivism causing a backlash that threatens transsexual acceptance.

Jean takes a pro-woman approach with everyone and is primarily concerned with combating MVAWG, regardless of the identity of the perpetrator.

They had a spat. Woo. Big deal.

What are you hoping to harvest from starting this thread, OP?

LangCleg · 24/07/2018 08:38

Why should we start policing and judging two anti self-ID campaigners on your say so, OP? Why would you like us to do that?

I won't be doing that.

Ereshkigal · 24/07/2018 09:18

No I won't be doing that either. It's often instructive to ask oneself why people take an interest in things I find.

I won't be doing this.

Surely more pressing is the ongoing public harrassment of women and targetting of organisations and businesses by Dr Adrian Harrop?

The mad TRAs are hand rubbing re this 'disagreement'.

I note that you have been somewhat hostile to the gender critical position OP. Are you looking for us all to split into factions and start lobbing insults at each other?

I wouldn't put the popcorn on the stove yet.
